Klamath Irrigation District held an election to fill our Division 5 representative position. This is a 3-year term.


Division 5: Following the District boundaries. Generally East of Wilson Road (Wilson Road is located between the communities of Merrill and Malin).


ELECTION RESULTS


Fred Simon               - 60 Votes (Winner)

Weston Walker         - 44 Votes


K.I.D. will swear Mr. Simon into the position during our January Annual Meeting.

FERC Approves license surrender and decommissioning of the Lower Klamath Project Dams

YREKA, Calif. - Today, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) unanimously approved the surrender of the Lower Klamath Project License and the decommissioning of the four hydroelectric dams in the Lower Klamath Project. The License Surrender Order is the final decision by FERC on the Klamath River Renewal project.

Klamath Water Users Association Responds to the FERC announcement


We are disillusioned and disappointed that so many parties have turned their backs on the Klamath Basin agricultural community, and failed to honor reciprocal commitments made to producers in 2016. Above all, this means that parties to the AKHSA failed to keep commitments to negotiate in good faith to put in place a new water agreement.
