Dear Daniel,
Food Relief Arrives in Dolval
In July Pastor Oris wrote about hunger in the little village of Dolval due to local famine and the general food insecurity in Haiti. That update resonated with many of you and you gave. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to send $3500 to Haiti to buy food for the community. Then on August 25, the community received their food gift. You can imagine they were surprised and thrilled! Everyone received a supply of rice, flour, cooking oil, spaghetti, sugar, tinned meat, spices, and garlic.
A team of volunteers in Cap-Haitien made the trip to Dolval and helped with the distribution. Here's a short video that documents how it went: https://tinyurl.com/2p9aetae
We have a longer compilation of cell phone video that shows the joy of the volunteers as they make the trip, and the happiness of the recipients:
Toward the end of the video, you see the group of people holding their bags of food as they shout "Mesi Paste Oris!" That means "Thank you Pastor Oris" in Haitian Creole. And of course, we thank all of you who gave and made this day possible: https://tinyurl.com/32ycbeck
X-Ray System Update
We would like to share some additional good news. The x-ray system you helped us purchase for the clinic is now on its way to Cap-Haitien. It has arrived in Miami, and the next step will be for it to travel on a ship to the port in Haiti. Please be praying for safe travels, quick clearance through customs, and delivery without incident. We'll be planning a trip for late this year to train staff before long.
As always, we are very grateful for your prayers and generous giving. You are a blessing!
