Lane Channel

Construction at the Lane Channel along southbound SR-55 between Dyer Road and MacArthur Boulevard is progressing. Contractors are building forms, pouring concrete, and installing rebar for the channel wall. These activities along with excavation work will continue through early summer.

Retaining Walls

Crews are constructing multiple retaining walls along northbound and southbound SR-55, with several more planned to start in the coming months.

Electric and Drainage

During daytime and nighttime hours, contractors continue to install or relocate electrical and drainage facilities along both directions of SR-55.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
