According to an article from CNBC's Money Report, passkeys may soon replace passwords. Passkeys are the way of the future in basic internet security as they're intrinsically more secure and phishing resistant, according to Kathleen Moriarty, the chief technology officer at the Center for Internet Security.

As major companies, including Apple, Google, and Microsoft, work with the standards developed by the FIDO Alliance and World Wide Web Consortium — two organizations that create password authentication standards — to provide support for passkeys on their platforms, the list of organizations offering passkeys as an alternative to passwords is continuing to grow.

The State of Illinois' Charitable Trust grant program helps small nonprofits with an annual budget of $1M or less involved in food assistance or workforce and economic development. Special consideration is given to neighborhoods affected by poverty, low-income levels, and high unemployment.  

For the current grant cycle, $200,000 is available, and eligible organizations can receive up to $20,000. Since the program began in 2017, $3.9M has been awarded to almost 200 nonprofits. The program is funded by incorporation filing fees, not from personal or property tax dollars.

The 2022 Economic Census is now underway, conducted in 2023 by the Bureau to collect data for the 2022 reference year publication. The collected statistics cover 19 economic sectors encompassing 910 North American Industry Classification System industries. Businesses asked to participate should respond by March 15.
