This newsletter provides information and updates on the implementation of House Bill (HB) 21-1198, Health Care Billing Requirements for Indigent Patients, otherwise known as Hospital Discounted Care. Low-income patients who aren't enrolled in Health First Colorado or Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) will have the opportunity to apply for financial assistance or charity care programs at the health care facility where they receive care.

Hospital Discounted Care Updates

Updated Patient Applications

We've uploaded a new version of the Uniform Application (Version 1.5) to the HDC Provider Information webpage.

The only change to the application is the removal of the CICP Only statement on the application tab related to CICP applicants refraining from executing an affidavit of support for the purpose of sponsoring an immigrant.

This change is due to the passage of House Bill 23-1117, which also removes this stipulation for patients applying for public benefits, including Health First Colorado programs. Please begin using this version of the application immediately. Any questions may be sent to hcpf_CICPCorrespondence@state.co.us.

Office Hours

HCPF is holding office hours every Wednesday at 9 a.m. No registration is required. The Zoom link and call in information are available on the Hospital Discounted Care website.
