Preparing for next spring

Volunteers at the Vista Hills Community Garden led the addition of a second accessible raised garden bed this fall. The raised bed fits into the existing garden space, which allows more neighbours to be involved. Some new paving will complete the addition for improved accessibility. We can't wait to see it in use next spring!

Connecting with neighbours and local history

With the help of a Neighbourhood Mini-Grant, the Mary-Allen Neighbourhood Association planned a local history walk. The tour took place in Mount Hope Cemetery and neighbours learned about local families and their stories.

Have an idea to promote neighbourhood connections? Email neighbourhoods@waterloo.ca and apply for a mini-grant!

Neighbour shoutouts!

Spotted: neighbourhood kindness. Person handing over a wrench

A neighbour shares:

Garry and Angela are amazing neighbours. Garry helped us fix our fence when it blew down in the wind storm, and helped us reinstall some flashing that had come off our house. He always lends us tools when we need them. Angela is an amazing cook and sometimes bring food over for us.

Is there someone doing awesome near you?

We want to recognize people who do great things, big or small, in their neighbourhood. Nominations will be accepted year-round, and every nominee will receive a thank you package.
