This month, JFS' Project Citizenship kicked off a new cycle of citizenship preparation classes specifically designed to provide assistance and guidance to lawful permanent residents who have applied for or are considering U.S. Citizenship.
The naturalization process can be challenging – JFS has dedicated instructors ready to provide comprehensive instruction and support. Our interactive classes encourage students to help each other on their citizenship journey.
Mr. J.T. (pictured), who was both a student and client of JFS Immigration and Citizenship Services, was excited to return to class at the Long Branch Public Library to share photos and speak about his experience in passing the U.S. naturalization interview. He notes, "I felt really prepared and confident. I don't want to say this exam is easy because it's a serious moment, but I am very grateful to my instructor for his time and the lessons he reviewed in class. [The class] helped me feel comfortable in my interview. Having the support of my instructor and classmates was really good, too."
Mr. J.T. came to the U.S. from Mexico when he was 12 years old, accompanied by his mother. Their entry into the country was facilitated through a family petition filed by his father, who was already residing in the U.S. He recently celebrated his birthday, made more special with the achievement of his life-long goal of becoming a U.S. Citizen.
JFS' Citizenship classes are offered in-person in six locations across New Jersey; virtual classes are also available. If you or someone you know would benefit from JFS Citizenship classes, share our flyer or call 732-777-1940 to register. To learn more visit JFS Middlesex - Citizenship Classes.
