Exploring Prayer: Learning Prayer

Sermon text: 1 John 5:13-15

Here & Now

2023 Missional Living Conference

A Growing Love for the Things God Loves

This year, our annual missions conference is called the Missional Living Conference because we want to see each of us to have a growing love for the things God loves.

We want you to not just come to HEAR how God is moving around the world. We want you to EXPERIENCE how He wants to move through YOU. We are all missionaries of the gospel of grace, whether you live in another country or right here in Greenville. We each have been given the Spirit of Jesus to continue the mission of Jesus.

We are all called to missional living. That means we must have a growing love for the things God loves. We need to know His heart for the hurting and the lost. Our hearts need to break for the things that broke His heart. We need to make His mission our mission.

Come and see what His Spirit is up to around the world. Come and see how the Spirit moves in you to continue the mission of Jesus.

Want to host a missionary in your home for the weekend? If so, email Becky at bhecht@mitchellroad.org

Psalm 1

This past Sunday we began our 12 week sermon series on Prayer. As we memorize Scripture together, listen for Psalm 1 in our liturgy throughout this year. We still have memory cards available for pick-up at the Welcome Desk - even kids are memorizing Psalm 1!

We encourage you to place this card on your mirror, in your car, by your kitchen sink, or wherever it will be helpful to prompt you. Hiding these truths in our hearts is a valuable part of our faith that will yield fruit in us for the years to come.

February Elective

Barriers to Prayer

Taught by: Neel Skelton (Learning Commons)

February is just around the corner and we are looking forward to beginning a new elective called Barriers to Prayer. Have you wanted to feel close to God in prayer, but often feel like your prayers are going nowhere? Next Generation Pastor, Neel Skelton, will help us think through what might be preventing us from connecting with God in prayer. We invite you to join us in the Learning Commons on February 5, 12, and 19 during the Sunday school hour.

Women's Retreat: March 10-11, 2023

Ladies, please join us for our first bi-annual Women’s Retreat called “Finding Freedom.” This year we will be going off campus to the Bonclarken Conference Center in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Ruthie Delk will help us look at legitimate and illegitimate shame and the lies that our shame tries to tell us about our true identity that is in Christ. Throughout the weekend we will learn more about the freedom and comfort that Christ holds out for us, no matter our stories. There will be group teaching, personal reflection time, food, and fun activities planned. Recruit your friends to come with you, and plan to make some new ones as well!

You must register by Sunday, February 5, to redeem early bird pricing! Early bird pricing (includes lodging and 3 meals):

$115 - Triple (3+)

$125 - Double

$210 - Single
