Wisconsin Maritime Museum: Thursday, February 2nd, 6:30pm — Join us for "Disney & Dolphins — Insignia that Defined the Silent Service” featuring USS Cobia curator Karen Duvalle. Karen will take us on a deep dive into the history of submarine warfare insignia, including an exploration of the impact of the art of Disney Studios and Manitowoc artist Ray Young. Roncalli Catholic Schools: Do you have a “little” who is just beginning their educational journey? Roncalli Elementary School invites families of youngsters who will be entering 3K, 4K and Kindergarten to attend a Preview Event. Preview Events will be held on Feb. 2nd and 8th at Roncalli Elementary School, 1408 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc. Sessions for 3K and 4K will be held from 9:00–10:15am and for Kindergarten from 12:30-1:45pm. Parents and guardians, along with their students, should plan to arrive at the start time of each session and enter through the main school doors off of North 14th Street. Pre-registration is not required. Attendees will participate in a welcome session, classroom visit and school tour. Manitowoc Public Library: On Monday, February 6th, Great Decisions returns for its sixteenth year, providing an opportunity for our community to discover, discuss, and decide how to meet the world’s greatest challenges head-on. The series will be presented in a hybrid format—all lectures (except for Week 2) will take place in-person at the Library, all will also livestream, broadcasting on both our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary) and YouTube channel. Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum: Valentine Printing Workshop at Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum: Valentines’ Ink & Drink. Friday, February 10th, 5:30–8:30pm, 1816 10th Street, Two Rivers. Show some love! Grab your friends (or your special someone) and join us to print one-of-a-kind valentines using vintage type. We are bringing out our collection of fun holiday imagery. No prior printing experience is necessary, Workshop instructor Stephanie Carpenter will provide step-by-step instructions. The Haven of Manitowoc County: Save the date! That's right! Shamrocks for Shelter is back in full effect! The pandemic made it difficult for The Haven to put on this awesome event. This is going to be a fun event with a friendly, non-competitive bean bag toss tournament, entertainment (Charlie Bucket Band), and food. The event will be held at Knox's Silver Valley on March 11th, 2023, from 11:00am–6:00pm. The tournament starts at 10:30am. Get your teams ready to rock 'n' roll! We will have bucket raffles, silent auction items, and the infamous lucky leprechaun board!

Miss Harbor Cities Organization: One part of the job for Miss Harbor Cities is Brand Ambassadorship. Candidates will use their communication, branding, and social media skills to promote the greater Manitowoc area. A scholarship will be awarded to the candidate with the most effective campaign. Hundreds of area residents and visitors to the city will be in Manitowoc the weekend of February 18th for the competition. City of Manitowoc is offering another opportunity for residents and others interested in the future of the community to provide input for the development of the Comprehensive Plan Update and Comprehensive Park and Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP). The surveys allow respondents the opportunity to provide feedback on specific topics in each plan including housing, neighborhood development, tourism and business development, as well as the parks & recreation system.
