Penguin Plunge a Huge Success
|

Tiverton Yacht Club’s annual event for the Tiverton Library is the epitome of hometown spirit.
At Grinnell’s Beach on a sunny New Year’s Day, the penguins braved the 48 degree waters while the community cheered them on, hot cocoa in hand. Tiverton Library Foundation thanks TYC for this tradition.

Movie Night: News of the World

Join us for a free movie, popcorn, and drinks on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
This month, we will be screening News of the World (2020; PG-13; 1h, 58min). A Civil War veteran agrees to deliver a girl, taken by the Kiowa people years ago, to her aunt and uncle, against her will. They travel hundreds of miles and face grave dangers as they search for a place that either can call home. Based on the novel by Paulette Jiles.

Art for Your Mind: Early New England Seascapes

This program explores and interprets a selection of beautiful and interesting images by several prominent American artists, Fitz Henry Lane, Winslow Homer, and Edward Hopper, to name a few. Join local art historian Jill Sanford for an enjoyable hour of challenging yourself to see in new ways!

Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) Learning Circle

Come learn about everything DSLR cameras. If you are interested (and overwhelmed) about buying a DSLR, if you have a DSLR still sitting in the box and don’t know where to start, or if you are using your DSLR and want to learn about all those buttons and menus, then this learning circle is for you!

Power Half Hour: Microsoft Excel 2016
|
These are beginner courses for anyone who hasn’t used Excel, or for those who need a refresher.
These half-hour sessions will run at a very manageable pace. We will supply you with a laptop and a practice document. You will learn about what kind of documents you can make, how to save and share files, along with the basics of cells, columns, rows, and how to tackle those pesky items like merging and wrapping!

Please save your cash register receipts from Lees Market and Clements' Marketplace. Both businesses generously donate 1% of their sales to the Friends of Tiverton Libraries. In 2022, that amount was over $1,200!!
All funds received by the Friends pay for library programs, materials, and museum and activity passes. Please bring your receipts to the Information Desk. Thanks for your support of Lees, Clements', and the Friends!
