Dear Farm Friends,
For the past few months I’ve been profiling our farm crew in this newsletter. If you missed any of those interviews you can read them (here). Keeping the farm thriving is a team effort, and this team is amazing, as you could see from the interviews. I am privileged to be a part of this group.
Mountain Bounty has an unusually flat management structure, where many share the responsibility for running the farm. Our strength, smarts, and resilience come from sharing power and working together. This unique structure is often given as a key reason why people tend to stay and work here for so long. Simply, we are trying to create the best possible work environment by empowering people to the extent that they desire, paying them as much as possible, and offering as many other benefits and support as we can.
Subscribing to our CSA, then, is more than just a commitment to enjoying fresh, organic produce. You are also directly supporting this dedicated group of farmers. These are the kind of people we are very lucky to have as part of our community, and every CSA box you receive helps keep them here. While we need your financial support, we also appreciate all the kind words we hear at the farmers market, sweet emails, and calls. We also hope you can meet our crew in person at our Harvest Festival and Pig Roast on the farm in November.
Thank you all!
John Tecklin
