September 2024 Grand Prize Winner |
Abigail Parker, a.k.a. "ladyAbbq," won this month's Grand Prize. She picked the Gold Medal-awarded Blaze Prelude 25" 3-burner stainless steel gas grill, MSRP $1,950.
"I had to read the email multiple times but I won the Grand Prize for September 2024 and I am freaking thrilled! I've been quietly lurking on this website for a few years picking up invaluable information and now this...completely crazy turn of events.
| | | |
"Thank you so much Meathead's AmazingRibs.com and thanks to everyone here--you guys are amazing!!" she said.
Congrats, Abigail!

Blaze is a newer brand with an interesting history. Parent company BBQGuys.com carries a vast catalog of products for cooking, grilling and entertaining. This basic model is beautifully made in high grade 304 stainless steel with a seamless welded hood and 8 mm stainless rod grates. It has three heavy, cast stainless burners with 14,000 BTU each. Flame stabilizing grids blanket the burners to spread heat and reduce flare ups. Removable dividers between each of the main burners accentuate heat zone separation. On “High”, it can hit 650°F, with the optional IR ceramic sear burner, Blaze blasts to 850°F. It’s a breeze to swap out one of the mains for the sear burner, because all burners slide in and out of valve posts at the front by the control panel and are held in place by cotter pins at the back. The Blaze also comes in a larger 4-burner version, which is the model we reviewed.

September 2024 Second Prize Winner |
Steve Nelson, better known to all as "Troutman," won Second Prize this month. He selected the FireBoard 2 Drive FBX2D Thermometer & Controller, MSRP $249.
The FireBoard 2 Drive functions as a standalone graphing thermometer but also allows you to connect to any 12 volt DC, 2.5mm plug controller fan without needing an extra fan cable (fan not included).
| | | |
And with 4 different screen views and a 30-hour battery, you're sure to find its customizable control right up your alley for trouble-free extended smokes.
The FireBoard 2 Drive, an evolution of the original Fireboard with an enhanced LCD display, has ports for 6 probes for measuring meat and oven temp and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi with an integrated thermostatic controller that sets the standard for this product class. It hits all the high notes: well-thought-out, solid construction, a full feature set, an intuitive app, and clear, well-written instructions – in five languages, no less. This Second Prize Pack includes the FireBoard 2 Drive with 1 ambient probe and 2 meat probes.
