We are SO close to opening our first building!

It’s one thing to tell you how things are progressing on site, but it’s another thing to show you. Here are some recent pictures of our apartments, getting closer to the time when we welcome our first families. We are loving the countertops and the flooring, and we know that our families will love them too. If you would like a tour of our site, please reach out to us HERE.

Lots of activity on Lake Trafford Road

Not only have there been updates to the inside of the apartments in our first building, but the grounds outside are seeing changes as well. Recently, we broke ground on our second apartment building, in partnership with the Shelter for Abused Women & Children. Progress is also being made on our first playground. With families moving in this summer, the kids will need a safe place to play! We’re excited for them to see the playground. And in order to keep our community safe, the street lighting is being installed as well. Our vision is becoming reality every single day!

Turning Houses Into Homes

As we prepare to open the doors to the first of eight apartment buildings, a new community initiative is stepping up to ensure that the transition for these new residents is as seamless and supportive as possible. The Furniture for Families "Move"ment is a dedicated group of concerned citizens who have come together with a shared mission: to furnish the new homes of 16 Immokalee families, including over 40 children, who will soon move into the much-anticipated housing.

Ten of the families moving in have no furniture and limited savings to purchase essential items. They are in urgent need of basic necessities like beds, tables, chairs, housewares, a couch – the fundamental pieces that make a house feel like a home.

There are several ways where you can make a gift directly to the movement. Click the AngeLink link to send a gift to our crowdfunding site. You can also use the Walmart Registry to send a specific gift for the new tenants. On behalf of our future residents, thank you!

Meet Tammy Richelieu: IFHA's New Chief Development Officer

The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance (IFHA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Tammy Richelieu as our new Chief Development Officer. As we prepare to open the first of eight apartment buildings for low-income and lower-income families, Tammy’s leadership and passion will be instrumental in driving our mission forward.

Tammy brings a unique blend of skills and experiences to her role at IFHA. Her background in sociology and education, combined with her deep-rooted understanding of community needs and her hands-on approach to service, makes her an invaluable asset to our team. As Chief Development Officer, Tammy will spearhead our fundraising efforts, build relationships with donors, and work tirelessly to secure the resources needed to complete our ambitious housing project.
