Dear partners!

My name is Elsy Cipriani and I’m the new executive director of the New Hampshire Food Bank.

I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with all and each of you. Having previously worked at a partner agency, I understand firsthand the dedication and tireless effort that goes into the day-to-day operations.

As we look to the future, we will soon be embarking on the creation of our new strategic plan. Your experiences and perspectives are essential in shaping a future where we can collectively strengthen our impact. I look forward to working closely with you.

Thanks,

Elsy

Welcome Elsy!

Notice to Agencies: Mandatory QSR Training

Starting in February 2025, your agency relations team here at the food bank will be holding mandatory trainings on how to fill out the Quarterly Service Report(QSR). Accurate information on Quarterly Service Reports is important for tracking demographics, applying for grants and helping us fulfill your needs! Therefore, before the 1st Quarter QSR is due at the end of April, we will be requiring that the person who fills this form out for each agency attend one of the trainings. This training will be approximately 30-45 minutes via Zoom and will have ample time for questions. Please sign up by emailing your coordinator.

Upcoming training dates:

Tuesday, April 1st at 2 pm

Wednesday, April 9th at 9am

ACTS OF Kindness NH (AOK)

Acts of Kindness NH (AOK) was featured at our Steel Chef Challenge as the newest partner agency of the New Hampshire Food Bank.

Operating during unconventional hours from 11 PM to 2 AM, AOK delivers backpacks filled with essential food items and hygiene products directly to the unsheltered individuals of Manchester.

This dedicated all-volunteer team not only provides nourishment to their clients, they help them navigate and overcome the barriers that contribute to their homelessness.

With AOK's commitment to feeding and improving lives within their community we are happy to welcome them as a partner Agency!

A Message from your Agency Relations Team

Hey Agencies! We wanted to thank you all for bearing with us while we worked through the process of our brand new Partner Agency Handbook. It was a big undertaking and we hope you all enjoy this resource that we worked very hard on for you all. We understand that some of our newer policies and changes made the process a little different than in years past but from this point on, renewal will be easier. In case you missed it, we talked about this in detail on our most recent NHFB & Partner Agency Network Call on Thursday, March 27th. The link to the recording can be found here.

Simple Strategies to Prevent Burn Out

Take a break! Regularly taking breaks can help you relax and recharge. Your breaks don't have to be long, just take a minute to regroup. A walk down the hall, take a seat and have a sip of water or walk outside for a breath of fresh air. Taking these daily moments will have a big impact on your stress level. Scheduling time off is also a necessity, whether it's a long weekend or a week off.

Soaking up some sun at the beach, relaxing in a cozy cabin in the woods, even a delightful staycation on your couch can leave you feeling refreshed! So, don’t just sit there—go schedule some time off!

Food Safety Training

SAFE Food Handling For Food Pantries:

Thursday, April 17th from 2pm - 4pm

Tuesday, June 3rd from 4pm - 6pm

SAFE Food Handling For Soup Kitchens & Prepared Meals:

Wednesday, May 14th from 4pm - 6pm

All sessions are 2 hr. trainings via Zoom.

If you need to acquire food safety training (non-meal sites) but are unable to attend a live zoom session, a similar training can be done online at workhub.com/features/training/food-safety or Alison.com/course/food-safety-and-hygiene. Both courses are free. Alison.com charges to print a certificate, to avoid this cost send your Agency Coordinator a screenshot of the certificate or a screenshot of your “Learner Record” with the date of completion found in your Account Settings.

All agencies are required to have at least one person at their facility that holds a Food Safety certificate at all times. Agencies that serve meals are required to have at least one person that has the ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent. If Agencies serving meals do not have ServSafe Manager by June 1st your agency will be placed on hold until that course is completed and proof is provided.

All certifications are good for 3-5 years depending on the exam.
