Greetings UCCB,

This Sunday, September 29, we are transforming worship into action, praise into service!  We will gather in the Community Center, have devotion, prayer, sing a hymn together, and rise against hunger. With Rise Against Hunger we will prepare emergency meals. Invite a friend or neighbor to come with you. This is a fun way to introduce your church to the community!

If you are joining us online, Nancy Stillman will lead an online worship and discussion.

If you are planning to come and have not yet registered with Rise Against Hunger, please register in advance. You can register Sunday morning, but it will save time if the registration is done in advance. See the article below from Kellie Senghas from the Faith in Action team.

See you on Sunday!

Register Now for Rise Against Hunger

Worship in Action, Sunday September 29, 2024

The upbeat music! The assembly line! The stylish hair nets! We’re excited to bring back Rise Against Hunger. All ages are invited to this Worship in Action service - there are roles for everyone! We’ll gather in the Community Center for a short worship service, then work together to assemble meal packets that will be distributed globally to those most in need. Just one way that we put our faith into action by caring for the world and demonstrating our love for neighbors, near and far. Have friends who are equally motivated – invite them to join!

All participants are required to register and agree to a liability waiver and release. It would be helpful for people to register ahead of time, freeing up time during the event for us to package as many meals as possible. On the registration page click the “Register” button. Where it says “Choose the time best for you to end world hunger” check “Volunteer Shift #01” (note that we’ve reserved two hours for the event, but any amount of time you can give will be appreciated). Don’t forget to hit “Submit” at the bottom of the page. Questions? Contact ktsenghas@gmail.com. Most Sundays in September, Kellie will be available during fellowship time after church to register you if easier. See you on September 29!

Becoming a Member of UCCB

If you’ve been attending UCCB for a while and would like to deepen your connection to the church, you may wish to consider becoming a member.

What does it mean to be a member of UCCB?

When you join the church, you covenant to walk together with us on our journey of discovering who we are and who God is calling us to become. Your part of the covenant is to support the church in whatever way is most fulfilling for you with your time, talents, or treasure. In turn, the church covenants to support you and your family on your journey.

As a member, you can vote in congregational meetings such as the vote to call a new pastor which will be coming up some months from now. Non-members may attend congregational meetings but cannot vote.

We’ll be receiving new members in worship on October 13. If you would like to learn more, or to join the church, please see one of the pastors or a Deacon.
