Happy New Year AFP Nova Scotia!
January marks the official start of our brand new board terms and we have a few folks stepping into new roles this year:
- Shaylyn MacAulay as Treasurer
- Daphne Carter as Sponsorship Chair
- Taylor Huestis as Communications Chair
Thank you all for your support and agreeing to take on leadership roles with our Chapter, we appreciate your time, energy and enthusiasm.
January and February are shaping up to be very busy months once again with lots of opportunities to connect and learn.
On January 26-27, Fundamentals of Fundraising is hitting the road and will be offered in PEI, if you are located on the island or have colleagues who are, please share the news with them.
Followed up by that is an opportunity to learn from our partners at iWave on how to use data and fundraising intelligence to inform your strategy. This is an online session that’s free to attend, we hope to see you there!
Our theme for February is all about connecting, we’re kicking the month off in style with a networking social at Pier 21. A continuation of our partnership with RCR and Glenn Stewardson, we hope you’ll join us to have some tasty snacks, a drink and time to chat. (Also for those of you interested in what we have planned for MFC 2023, you’ll get a sneak peek at our potential venue!)
We’ll be finishing off February the same way we started with a Happy Hour event hosted by our Young Professionals committee, it’s for all YP, emerging leaders and those young at heart. Registration for both networking sessions are open now.
I want to close my message by saying a huge thank you to all those who gave through our Every Member Campaign. Year after year, our Chapter proves to be incredibly generous and supportive, and this year was no different. We surpassed each of our fundraising goals and moved into one of the top five Chapters in Canada for EMC participation! Truly incredible and wouldn’t be possible without your support. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. In addition to supporting our Foundation, a portion is re-invested directly in our chapter to help us continue to offer local programming and scholarships to our members.
I hope you all have a lovely January and as always feel free to reach out to me with any questions, concerns or ideas!
All the best,
Whitney MacLean
