DISTRICT MISSION: The mission of the Cedarburg School District is to provide an exemplary education that challenges students in a nurturing environment to develop into lifelong learners, to become responsible adults, and to achieve their goals and dreams.
From the Superintendent
Dear CSD Parents and Families,

While January is considered the start of the new calendar year, it is actually the middle of the school year calendar, with Thursday, January 19, marking the end of the first semester. Last week, our high school students completed their final exams, and this past Monday commenced the seniors' beginning of their last semester at Cedarburg High School.

With that, CHS seniors and their families are determining their next steps. For some, it will be continuing their studies at a university, college, or technical school, while for others, it will be the military or workforce. Regardless, CHS students will continue their journey of lifelong learning.

One of the many special organizations the Cedarburg community has to offer is the Cedarburg Community Scholarship Fund (CCSF). For those unfamiliar with the CCSF, it is an organization that provides scholarships to seniors who reside in the Cedarburg School District, regardless of which high school they attend. Over the past 50 years, they have distributed over $4.2 million in scholarships to more than 3,800 students. Last year, they awarded scholarships to over 130 Cedarburg students. CSD is fortunate to have such an outstanding partner in CCSF. Last evening, I was invited to attend the CCSF 50th Anniversary Celebration. For me, it was a personal opportunity to learn of the impact this organization has had on the lives of numerous students over the years.

To learn more about the CCSF and how you can help support them and our students, please visit their website (www.ccsf.info). If you have a high school senior, consider completing the CCSF online scholarship application. The application period ends on February 3, 2023.

As I have mentioned before, the Cedarburg school community is simply amazing. The opportunities for learning and supporting the education of our students are all around us. Thank you for your continued support!

Wishing you all a wonderful winter season,

Dr. Jeridon Clark, Superintendent
Cedarburg School Crossing Guards
Earlier this month, Superintendent Clark invited the Cedarburg Crossing Guards that serve our district to breakfast at Pj Piper Pancake House. Celebrating them and the rich history they bring to us is a long-standing tradition and a pleasure! Join us in thanking our school crossing guards for ensuring our kids have a safe journey to and from school. Always sharing smiles and kind words, they positively influence the beginning and end of every school day.
Snow Day Procedure Reminder
On November 15th, Superintendent Clark shared the inclement weather procedure and protocols involved in making an informed decision that may alter the school day this winter season. You may review that CSD Inclement Weather Procedure letter on our website here.
Kindergarten Enrollment
4K & 5K enrollment is now open for students that will be new to the Cedarburg School District in 2023-24. Follow the instructions on the district website to enroll. We look forward to welcoming you to CSD!
Parkview Woods
Over the past several months, the Cedarburg School District (CSD) Grounds Crew has been concentrating on cleaning up the Parkview Woods. In September of 2022, the Parkview Woods suffered significant damage from storms that swept Cedarburg and surrounding areas. Several trees were uprooted and fell in the woods, on the playground, and over the walking paths. Earlier this month, the CSD Grounds Crew, along with DD Outdoor Services in Grafton, spent considerable time in the woods, cutting down over 100 dead trees and clearing all the pathways. Over the remainder of the winter and spring, the CSD Grounds Crew will concentrate on cleaning up more of the deadfall.
Congressional App Challenge
Congratulations to CHS students Carter Lator, Mason McManus, and Adam Wilson for winning the 2022 Congressional App Challenge for WI District #6! They created an app called Mathware that was designed to provide math drills on basic skills for students. During final exam week, they were visited by Congressman Grothman to personally congratulate them and present each student with Congressional Commendations! Each will now be invited to attend the #HouseOfCode National Science Fair this spring in Washington, DC!

CHS Distinguished Alumni Nominations
The strengthening of a network of alumni accelerates opportunities to enhance the collective impact on our entire Cedarburg School District family. In recognizing an alumnus or alumna each year, we establish a tradition that honors CHS graduates who have gone on to distinguished careers and service in various fields making major contributions; achieving noteworthy accomplishments that separate themselves from others. The Cedarburg School District is proud to honor the graduates of CHS and is now open to accepting nominations for the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award.
From the Chromebook Helpdesk
Problems with your student's Chromebook? Many minor “glitches” can be solved by plugging in the Chromebook, holding the refresh key, and pressing the power button. If this does not solve the problem or there is damage, be sure your student takes the Chromebook to the office (elementary schools) or IMC (middle & high schools), so it can be repaired as soon as possible. Please remind your student to treat their Chromebook kindly, so it will last and doesn’t need to be turned in for repairs! Thank you!
Student Art Matters
Sponsored by Mel's Charities and in loving memory of Shelby Austin, check out "Student Art Matters," the original artwork of Cedarburg elementary and middle school students now on display at the Cedarburg Art Museum today through March 26. Be sure to stop by for an opening reception that will be held on February 2 from 4-6:30 PM.

In addition, the 75th Annual Ozaukee County Art Show will be on display in the galleries at the Cedarburg Cultural Center, featuring an incredible gallery of all K-12 student pieces. You can stop anytime between March 19 through April 16, 2023.
Professional Development Days
The district holds designated days of professional development (PD) during the school year to provide time for teachers to learn about new content and instructional strategies to implement in their classrooms and for Professional Learning Teams (PLT) to meet around the three key questions:
  • What do we want students to know and be able to do? Curriculum
  • How will we know they know? Assessment
  • What will you do for students who know or haven’t yet mastered the content taught? Instructional Support Systems

The January 20th Professional Development Day was organized to accommodate role-specific content meetings and time for teachers to focus on reviewing their curriculum. For more about the District PD days, check out our website.
Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary
The Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary Club established a new "Rotary Student of the Month" program last October. Rotating each month with Grafton School District, the program recognizes students at its monthly meetings from Cedarburg and Grafton HS who demonstrate hard work through school, employment or other activities.
As the first awardee, CHS Principal Casey Bowe, selected senior Katie O'Connor. "Katie is a leader at CHS! She holds herself to extremely high standards, supports her peers, works incredibly hard, and is respectful, kind, and humble. She is a deserving recipient of this award," said Mr. Bowe. Presented by Rotary President Melissa Wraalstad, Katie received a monetary award for herself and an additional amount to donate to a non-profit of her choosing; Katie chose Family Sharing.
CHS’s Student of the Month for December was senior Evan Weber. “Evan has been involved with many different service clubs and sports teams, including National Honor Society, three years on the Student Council, being a key member of the Business Capstone class, Best Buddies, and leads the scheduling and working at concession stands for school events," said Principal Bowe. “He’s also had high levels of performance in the most challenging classes. In class, on the field, and in the community, Evan is the consummate Bulldog.” Evan chose Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge as his charitable donation.

Congratulations Bulldogs! #pridechs
