Sharing Progress

As we approach the mid-point of the 2022-23 school year, you will soon be receiving your child’s first progress report. Unlike many schools, WMS reports share not only your child’s academic progress, but also their social and emotional growth, and their steps toward independence in every aspect of their days. You will learn more about your child’s ability to care for their possessions, navigate the classroom, as well as their relationships with students and adults. You’ll get a glimpse into the skills they’ve gained and those they continue to work on. You will gain insight into how your child approaches learning, what they enjoy and areas where they may need more practice. Conferences and progress reports are reflections of your child, as a learner, developing on their individual timeline.

We use information that is appropriate given the child’s age, development, and eventually, their grade level as the basis of reports. Our goal is to help you to better understand your child’s unique learning profile. Learning can be messy, unpredictable and delightful. At WMS, multi-age classrooms demonstrate that journey well, allowing children to learn from those at varying stages of their development and understanding. Teachers look forward to continuing their conversations about your child’s learning through progress reports and future conferences.

Re-enrollment Information - Due February 15

Getting Started

As you know, re-enrollment for the 2023-24 school year opened last week. All current WMS families should have received an email with re-enrollment instructions - if you did not receive it, please check your spam folders and any other email addresses you may have on file for your family.

To log into FACTS, you will use the username and password that you created during enrollment last year. If you can't remember your username, email admissions@wmsde.org and we will look it up for you. You will then be able to reset your password on the login page. If you did NOT enroll via FACTS last year, you will need to follow the instructions in the email to create a new account.

We encourage you to log in and make sure you are able to access re-enrollment as soon as possible to ensure that you will be able to complete your packet before the February 15 deadline. The packet should take 20-30 minutes to complete.

Please note that after February 15, spots will be offered to new families on our waiting list. If you won't be returning to WMS next year, you can notify admissions@wmsde.org or log into FACTS and click "Will Not Enroll." This will turn off future enrollment reminders through the FACTS system and inform our planning for the fall.

FACTS Health Records

The 2023-24 enrollment/re-enrollment packet for your student includes several sections related to Health Records and Permissions and Releases. If your child is a returning WMS student, this information and documentation was previously stored in the Magnus system, which will be phased out for the 2023-24 school year. Starting in the 2023-24 school year, student health records will be stored within the FACTS student information system (SIS).

Please review all of the health questions carefully and be sure to upload the most recent Health/Immunization records as well as any Action Plans you may have for your student. If you are awaiting your child’s physical for this year, please upload the most recent and current forms you have in your records.

Your child's enrollment will be considered complete when all applicable forms (the Health Appraisal, Immunization, Action Plans, etc.) have been fully submitted.

If you are unable to see the Apply/Enroll option in the sidebar when you log into FACTS, click the "hamburger" in the top left to expand the full column.

Register for Camp Montessori!

Registration for Camp Montessori 2023 is open! Last year, many of our sessions filled to capacity, so we highly recommend signing up as soon as possible! Register for at least five weeks (as a family) by March 31, 2023 to receive a 10% early registration discount.

This summer, field trips will return for campers in kindergarten and older, and we're excited to share that the Dragons camp program is back, for students entering fifth through eighth grade! Our younger campers will continue to enjoy on-site field trips.

Note for Toddler families:

As we've shared, the Toddler program at Camp Montessori is open to current WMS students only. We are currently at or near capacity for all weeks. Please email cam p @wmsde.org for assistance registering your child or to be added to our waiting list.
