SLC State Project Top 10 Awards / Receiving Credit for the OCC
for State Project Contributions
Dear PA FBLA Advisers

Normally, February and March before the State Leadership Conference AND the time at the State Leadership Conference are times when we receive about 50-70% or more of the monies earned by chapters on behalf of the state project, which this year is the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This year's state project goal is $35,200, which will help grant 8 wishes. To date, the total money earned for the project is now approaching $15,000. Chapters regularly submit their contributions multiple times during the year leading up to the “big reveal” (the amount of money earned by PA FBLA and its chapters on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation). The "big reveal" is always announced at the SLC Opening General Session.

For any donation received by February 20, 2023, chapters will receive a receipt from the PA FBLA State Treasurer to apply to the 2022-2023 Outstanding Chapter Criteria (OCC). Anything received after that date can be applied to the 2023-2024 OCC.

State Project Awards
We will announce the following state project fundraising awards for the 2022-2023 FBLA year at the PA FBLA Opening Session on Monday night, April 17, 2023. The Opening Session will be livestreamed.
Top 10: Largest State Project Contributions (by chapters)
Top 10: Largest Per Capita State Project Contributions (chapter’s fundraising efforts divided by chapter membership)

How will we determine those awards?
We will do all the calculations for the awards based on the monies received and in hand on Monday, April 17, at 12:00 noon.

If your chapter has any funds to donate and would like to be considered for the awards, please strive to make sure any donations are at my office by Thursday, April 6. HOWEVER, you also have a chance to bring your state project check to Hershey to be counted toward the state project total. To be counted for the state project awards, the check must be brought to conference headquarters and given to Bruce Boncal no later than 12:00 noon on the first day of the conference, which is April 17. This has been posted on the website since August.

Make checks payable to: PA FBLA or PA FBLA State Project
Mail any checks to:

PA FBLA Executive Director
PO Box 5085

If your chapter has any funds raised that have not yet been submitted to support Make-A-Wish Foundation and you doubt they will be sent to be received by the April 6 deadline or brought to Hershey, you can still mail any contributions to PA FBLA until June 20, 2023. The state project fund account will be closed out for Make-A-Wish Foundation by June 30.
