Giving Day and Brooks Together
Thank you to everyone who supported last Thursday’s Giving Day. With 888 gifts and $362,975 raised, the generosity of the Brooks community was on full display. Go Brooks!

This week marks the halfway point for Brooks Together, our parent drive for the Brooks Fund. To date, we are boasting 55 percent current parent participation, and with three weeks to go, we are hopeful that this number will rise steadily. Over the coming weeks, parent volunteers and members of the Brooks advancement team will be in touch to encourage your support of Brooks Together. Thank you for your consideration.
Student Life
Spring Break Planning
The school will close for Spring Break on March 8 (with a special academic schedule, classes finish at 11 a.m.) and reopen on March 27 at 12 p.m. See our planning details around school breaks. All boarding students are to complete departure and return plans using REACH.

The school provides vans to Logan Airport and a bus to NYC/CT on March 8. There is also a return bus from NYC/CT on March 27. Students may sign up for these transportation options through their leave request in REACH.
Weekend Bulletin
There are lots of activities and trips planned for this long weekend. Check out the Weekend Bulletin to see all of the offerings.
Academics
Brooks delegates to the Boston Model UN conference last weekend showed off their debate skills, won an award and grew inspired to continue competing. Read more and see all the photos in our news story on brooksschool.org.
Class of 2024: Registering for SAT/ACTs
It's not too soon to register for upcoming SAT and/or ACT tests. Most students in the class of 2024 should register for one or more of these tests. The next SAT is on March 11. Brooks is NOT a test site for the March SAT.

Brooks is an unlisted test center for the ACT on April 15 and the SAT on May 6 and June 4. Because only Brooks students may take the test at Brooks, you may not see Brooks pop up as an option on the registration page.

You need to enter the test center code into the search bar. Only Brooks students can register to take the tests at Brooks.

  • The test center code for the ACT is: 224020

  • The test center code for the SAT is: 22584
Summer Opportunities
Now is the time to register for summer programs on the campuses of many colleges around the U.S. Almost daily, we receive emails from colleges marketing opportunities for high school students. This document has links to a variety of programs. Many deadlines are coming up soon.
Arts
Join Us for a Friday Night Optional Arts Event
Everyone is invited to join us tomorrow, Friday, at 7 p.m. in the Keating Room for a conversation with William “Bill” Ferris '60 in concert with his exhibition in the Robert Lehman Art Center Gallery: Photography, Recordings, Music from the South.

Off-campus? You can jump on this Zoom for the talk. Those of us on campus are encouraged to attend in-person. We look forward to engaging with Grammy-winner Ferris and learning more about his life's work as we continue to honor Black history and the arts at Brooks.

Get Your Tickets for Chicago: High School Edition
Don't miss your chance to see Brooks Firetrail Theatre in action! This incredible group of student performers and technicians have pulled out all the stops to bring to life the iconic musical Chicago on Feb. 23, 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. Free tickets are now available.

  • Please note that this production contains mature themes and language that may not be suitable for all audience members.

  • The summary: "In roaring twenties Chicago, chorus girl Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap... until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another 'Merry Murderess,' Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the 'American Dream': fame, fortune, and acquittal.”

Planning for Spring Activities, Gear Orders

Online ordering is available now for spring sports. The deadline for orders is Feb. 23.

Health & Wellness
This week, the B Well wellness program is challenging students to disconnect from their screens and connect with the community around them. Students are asked to limit their social media and game usage to one hour a day or less, which studies show is best for mental health and well-being. Those who participate in the challenge will be entered to win a variety of prizes.
