PUTTING THE "UNITY" IN COMMUNITY

As your trusted community bank, we're dedicated to creating opportunities for our community, customers, and employees every day. Serving our neighbors is a daily mission of ours. In 2023 alone, 10% of our net profits were reinvested back into the community.

We're sending a thank you to everyone who donated school supplies recently! Your kindness went a long way. On Saturday, August 17 our team distributed all donated supplies to help ensure that children within Berks County have the tools they need to succeed as they head back to school.

RECAP OF THE EVENT FROM 69 NEWS

As the only bank headquartered in Berks County, Fleetwood Bank’s Annual Bingo Fundraiser is one of many ways that we give back to our community throughout the year. Habitat for Humanity of Berks County

New Journey Community Outreach, Inc.

Safety Net Sanctuary

Veterans Making A Difference

To purchase tickets in advance, please visit any of Fleetwood Bank’s seven locations throughout Berks County. Cash or check is accepted. Tickets purchased in advance are $30, and tickets purchased the day of the event are $35. Each ticket includes 20 games of Bingo, a hot dog, beverage, and chips. Special games are available at an additional cost and additional refreshments and baked goods will also be available for purchase.

Interested in Donating?

Any individual or local business is welcome to make and donate a gift basket to help make our Bingo a success. If you do not have the time or prefer not to make a basket, we will also accept donations. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and there is no minimum dollar amount that the gift baskets must be worth. We plan to showcase and recognize everyone who makes a donation for this worthwhile cause at the event and through our social media. You can drop off your gift basket or donation to any of our seven Fleetwood Bank locations throughout the county. In order to have all Bingo and raffle items prepared for the event, we greatly appreciate receiving your donation by Friday, October 11.

Last school year, the Fleetwood Area School District reached out to the Bank to see if we would help support the Nature Center Restoration Project taking place behind the Fleetwood Area Middle School. This project was spearheaded by Mrs. Molly Sherman, the District’s Gifted Support Teacher for Grades 5 through 12, and it was a true community effort.

The Bank covered the full cost of supplies, which local company A.D. Moyer Lumber, kindly offered at a discounted price. Fleetwood alumnus, Mr. John Watkins of Watkins Architect in Fleetwood, donated his time as a consultant on the project by personally surveying the area and volunteering to develop blueprints for the boardwalk footbridge near the pond.

In Spring of 2024, Mr. John Heck, Technology Education teacher at the High School, worked with his woodshop students to build the bridge over a one and a half month period of time. "My students are always excited about projects which help the community and get them outside. It was a win/ win assignment. Fleetwood is fortunate to have businesses that are willing to invest in our kids' education," reflects Mr. Heck.

Throughout the Summer months, teachers, as well as ETC students and their families volunteered their time to chop down trees and remove invasives to totally clear the area. Mrs. Sherman’s students also planted trees donated by Berks Nature and over 250 plants, all to help attract more wildlife.

Thanks to their efforts, students will now enjoy even better access to the pond so they can benefit from wildlife observation and study. In addition, the cross-country team will now be able to include the 0.2-mile pond trail in their course, and the community as a whole can enjoy this walking trail for many years to come.

Kudos to all involved on making this happen - what a collaborative effort!

Tomorrow, August 30, is the last day that raffle tickets to win a Martin Solid Top 00X2E will be on sale at all of our branches.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Sunday, September 15 to enjoy a festive day of fiddles, dancing and celebration at the Fleetwood Park.

THE DIFFERENCE OF BANKING LOCAL

It's simple: Relationships matter to us. You'll see this in the hometown hospitality you'll find in any of our branches, to the personable service offered by our commercial lending team.

Fleetwood Bank customer, Aesir Logistics, LLC, has recently achieved a significant milestone by partnering with NASA. This endeavor underscored Aesir’s expertise in navigating complex logistical challenges and highlighted their pivotal role in supporting scientific endeavors. Though it was Aesir’s first time completing work for NASA, Steve Scecchitano, President of the company, has completed work with NASA before, having worked for one of the world’s largest chemical companies for over 15 years before starting Aesir Logistics.

Partnering with Fleetwood Bank since 2019 has been instrumental in Aesir Logistics’ growth. Fleetwood Bank has provided crucial support, enabling Aesir to expand its fleet and warehouse capabilities. For Steve Scecchitano, banking locally underscores his commitment to community values and fostering strong relationships within the business ecosystem. He is someone that “always prefers to do business with other local businesses when possible” and is a true believer in small community relationships.

“Fleetwood Bank was great to work with when I needed a home mortgage in 2019. It was an easy decision after that to move my business banking needs. They have helped us tremendously, as we've seen exponential growth over the past few years."
