It's the time of year when orange signs decorate street corners and telephone poles! It's RUMMAGE SALE SEASON!!! Here at the Elkhorn Chamber we love to celebrate this season with a City Wide Rummage Sale. With almost 70 rummage sales on the map, there definitely will be something for everybody.
If for no other reason, Friday and Saturday will be terrific days to get out and stretch your legs and take a walk around a few garages filled with nick knacks and treasures waiting to be re-homed. I can think of several items in my own home that I was lucky enough to snatch up and reclaim. With the cost of inflation, buying items brand new is sometimes a luxury one cannot afford: rummage sales really are a blessing.
So get curious. Go meet your neighbors with the balloons at the end of their driveway and see what wish list items you may be able to bring home for a fraction of their retail price. I know I plan to make the rounds through Elkhorn and see what trash-to-treasure deals await. All that thrifting will surely leave you hungry and thirsty. Head to downtown Elkhorn to explore the wonderful restaurants and shops where you'll find breakfast, lunch & dinner and perhaps a few more treasures!
