Artist of the Month:
Virgene Tyrrell
"Mosaics are my passion. I have been creating them for over 20 years. I love using my own photographs as inspiration, but also doing contemporary pieces, suns, sunflowers and the occasional whimsical animal like the giraffe I’m currently working on. My suns have been shown as transition pieces 7 times on CBS Sunday Morning. My mosaics have been in galleries in Minnesota, Texas, Kansas and now Missouri. My husband, Charlie, and I are happy to make St Louis our home and enjoy being close to our grandchildren. You can find me on Facebook, instagram, Etsy and on my blog as MosaicsbyVirgene".

Meet Susan Burkhart:
“A lifelong passion to create has pulled me in many different directions. I see a new craft or technique and think 'I can do that'. This show reflects the 'rabbit hole' of my life, where I have worked with many materials and in a myriad of ways to fulfill this weird need to create. I am primarily a scroll saw woodworker and a jeweler, which encompasses many different techniques and media. I also quilt, block print, make cards, do cross stitch, and dabble in ice dying. I teach copper smithing and other jewelry classes at the gallery.”

Meet Debbie Kindschuh:
"As a professional photographer, I often desire a more hands-on-approach to my art, so I turn to my brushes and paint either one of my nature photographs or an image that I see while I'm out in nature. My medium is oil, acrylics, handmade paper collages, and assemblage art. This series features impressionist style paintings of water lilies, flowers, collages and photos inspired by my travels to Japan.” It also includes a traditional wedding kimono and other Japanese artifacts.

WIN A QUILT
Crossroads Arts Council
We’re giving away a quilt in December of 2023. The quilt was made by Millie Bloomer and donated to us by Mary Pearson.
The first time you visit our galleries in 2023, you write your name next to a number in the record book. You put your number on a slip of paper and put it in the jar.
Each time after that, you only need to put your number on a slip of paper and put it in the jar.
You can put a slip of paper in the jar for each time:
You attend a reception.
You act as a docent.
You take a class.
You teach a class.
You make a purchase from one of our galleries.
You curate a show.
You sponsor a show.
You attend a member meeting,
You serve on a committee.
You volunteer at a CAC event or booth (Quilt Show, Arts and Ales, Sunset Market, Fall Festival, Wentzville Days).
Drawing will be held at the reception of our December 2023 show - Artistic Gifts Under $100.
