NEW: PowerSchool Registration / Admissions Priorities for the 2023-24 School Year
PowerSchool Registration is available starting today, January 30, for all Xavier Catholic Schools families. You are welcome and encouraged to start this process at this time. A final deadline will be in July. Communication will be shared with families this summer, closer to this deadline. Please keep in mind that if you complete this process in advance, additional information will be needed in July for final registration. Thank you!


NEW THIS YEAR for ALL XAVIER CATHOLIC SCHOOLS - Admissions Priorities: 

Guidance on enrollment decisions in the case of limited enrollment or waitlist situations at certain grade levels has been put in place. Priority enrollment is given to currently-enrolled students, children of Xavier Catholic School employees, and siblings of current students whose families are in good standing. We guarantee your child’s spot if the registration process is complete by March 1st, 2023.*

NEW: Catholic Schools Week
Happy Catholic Schools Week! As we begin our week of celebrating our family of faith, here is a reminder of our themes/dress days for this week:

  • Monday (1/30) - Groutfit - Basically wear as much gray as you can.
  • Tuesday (1/31) - Dress Code Day - NAVY BLUE polo or quarter zip with dress code pants. (Each Xavier Catholic school will wear their school’s color to mass: LaSalle: Green, Regis: Red, St Joe’s: White)
  • Wednesday (2/1) - Yellow vs. Pink - Wear as much yellow or pink as you can.
  • Thursday (2/2) - Farm vs. Beach - Freshmen and sophomores should wear their best farm gear to compete against juniors and seniors who will be decked out in beach gear.
  • Friday (2/3) - School Spirit Day! - Regular Spirit Day guidelines apply

*Jeans or sweatpants are OK for all days except Tuesday. Leggings are NOT allowed. Shorts are not allowed unless worn over pants! No bare legs. Students are asked to please use Christian modesty.

MCO Drive: Xavier High School will be participating with all the area Catholic Schools in a drive to support Metro Catholic Outreach. Xavier students are asked to donate personal care items such as shampoo, body wash/soap, kleenex/paper towels, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Donations can be brought to school through February 2. Items will be collected in student houses.
Reminder: Post Prom 2023
2023 Post Prom will be held on April 22, 2023 immediately following Xavier Prom. As always, the goal of Post Prom has been to provide a safe, fun, drug- and alcohol-free environment for our students. 

We are in need of Post Prom Co-Chairs (2) and Prize Chairs (2). This is typically served by junior parents. If you are interested or have questions regarding either, please text Kelly Hiserote at 319-533-8300

Reminder: Young Men's Conference Registration is Open
The Xavier Young Men's Conference is coming on February 10th for guys in grades 11 and 12. 
  
Our theme this year is "Raising the Bar" and the day will include talks from Mr. Goldsmith, special guest speakers and a Xavier alumni panel. This is an off campus event from 9:00am - 2:30pm hosted at St Patrick's parish.

If your student would like to participate they will need to fill out the registration form that will soon be sent to their Xavier email, then you will need to pay a $15 registration fee through xavierhs.8to18.com. The fee includes lunch and snacks for the day. Your registration will not be complete until you pay the $15 fee.

Reminder: FACTS Applications for the 2023-24 School Year
The FACTS online application for STO opened on January 1st, with the deadline being
April 15th. In addition to completing the application, parents must upload their
2022 federal tax return and other required schedules or tax documentation. Families who applied last year should have received an email that the 23-24 applications are open. 
 
Reminder: Tuition Statements
To make the process more efficient for families, we are asking parents to print off tuition statements from the "My BackPack" website (step by step process below) to use for the Tuition Tax Credit on your Iowa tax return. The credit is maxed out at $2,000 of allowed school expense per student (tuition, textbooks) for the 2022 calendar year and the maximum credit is $500 or 25% of max expense per student. 
 
Please provide this documentation to the person who prepares your tax return to take advantage of the tuition tax credit.
