“Love as an orientation tool. Eyes like dials,” says Yoke Lore. “As if a compass or a clock or a level. There is a physical awareness to the soothe of balance. Like how the body uses sickness to communicate danger. The heart will put up walls. But paradise is built with persistence. And passion is a way of living. The game is knowing where you are. Orientation over location. Because ignorance isn't bliss, it's ignorance. And love keeps the score.”
Yoke Lore will celebrate “The Score” – and more new music to come – with “The Autumn Amble: An Introspective Spectacular,” an epic US headline tour getting underway October 25 at Roseville, CA’s Goldfield Trading Post and then traveling until late November. Highlights include stops at such famed venues as Denver, CO’s Ogden Theatre (October 31), Minneapolis, MN’s First Avenue (November 4), Detroit, MI’s Saint Andrew’s Hall (November 9), Asbury Park, NJ’s The Stone Pony (November 20), New Haven, CT’s Toad’s Place (November 21), and Portland, ME’s State Theatre (November 24). Support throughout comes from Runnner. In addition, Yoke Lore will join Briston Maroney at “Briston Maroney Presents: Paradise (3rd Annual Festival),” a multi-artist event set for November 15 at Nashville, TN’s Brooklyn Bowl Nashville. Yoke Lore – a.k.a. Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, dancer, and visual artist Adrian Galvin – has been immersed in music for his whole life. Having grown up in Katonah, NY among a highly creative, intensely spiritual family, his musical journey began with countless bands, including a role as founding member of Walk The Moon, with whom he co-wrote the chart-topping debut single, “Anna Sun.” A gifted visual artist, Galvin also explored dance and co-founded the dance company Boomerang in the mid 2010’s. In 2016, Galvin began performing solo as Yoke Lore, shaped in part by his growing interest in the banjo, that most storied instrument in the mythos of American music, the sound of deliverance set to five strings. He quickly found success with 2017’s RIAA Gold-certified “Beige,” earning millions of worldwide streams amidst ecstatic critical applause. An extended series of singles, EPs, collaborations, film scores, and international live performances (including tours alongside Bastille, Bishop Briggs, Mt. Joy, The Pains of Being Pure of Heart, and The Head and The Heart, among others) followed, all of which saw Galvin amassing over 450M worldwide streams while fusing his myriad creative passions into a singular and cohesive form of expression. Yoke Lore’s full-length debut, Toward a Never Ending New Beginning, arrived at last in 2023, solidifying Galvin’s distinctive approach with thoughtful reflection and raw, unfiltered honesty, transcending songcraft and genre into an intricately hewed vision altogether his own.
