Key findings include:
- Employees are concerned about indoor air quality (IAQ). The numbers are unambiguous. In the U.S., 74% of employees are concerned that poor IAQ is impacting their general health.
- Younger employees are more likely to worry about IAQ. In the U.S., 85% of respondents aged 18 to 34 were either fairly or very concerned, while in the U.K., two-thirds (66%) were concerned.

AkitaBox, a facilities management software developer, has partnered with Procore Technologies, a global provider of construction management software, to create AkitaBox Connect, an integration between the two products for smoother construction handover. AkitaBox Connect is designed to ease the transition from building construction to facilities operations and maintenance. It enables building operators to transfer all essential construction documentation from Procore directly into AkitaBox, which then serves as the building’s comprehensive facilities management solution.
"Right now, construction handover is a huge pain point for everyone involved," pointed out Josh Lowe, AkitaBox’s chief solutions officer. "AkitaBox Connect smoothly transfers this essential documentation and makes it immediately applicable to building operations teams. Construction document handover has historically been a manual, time-consuming process for general contractors. Once the data is handed over, it’s not typically in a format building operators can easily use to begin maintaining the facility. Now we have the technology to change that."

According to Q2 2022 statistics from Press Ganey, a leader in patient, member, employee and consumer experience across the healthcare ecosystem, more than two nurses are assaulted every hour. That equates to roughly 57 assaults per day, 1,739 assaults per month and 5,217 assaults per quarter.
"Nurses take an oath to do no harm, and many put their own safety and health at risk to help a patient," stated Jeff Doucette, DNP, R.N., NEA-BC, FACHE, FAAN, chief nursing officer, Press Ganey. "However, violence should not be considered just 'part of the job.' What’s especially concerning about these numbers is that they are likely even higher, as assaults generally go underreported by healthcare professionals — and nurses in particular."

Workplace metrics have radically changed since the pandemic. And so have the way that facility managers gather and use them. Most workplaces today are increasingly flexible and dynamic, complicating space decisions on both the facilities and C-suite level. While this flexibility is necessary for achieving business goals and addressing changing employee needs, it also comes with a challenge and a cost.
The challenge? For the C-suite to make informed decisions about the workplace, FMs need to present them with actionable data by combining multiple, real-time data sources into meaningful reports. And the cost? Without good space planning, a hybrid office can easily lead to unused or unoccupied real estate, resulting in wasted space and resources. But with office transformations costing up to $290 per square foot according to JLL's 2022 U.S. & Canada Fit Out Guide, making changes without careful planning can be equally wasteful.

“Sorry, what’s your name — again?” Few things are more frustrating than forgetting someone’s name, especially at work. But remembering dozens, or even hundreds, of names isn’t necessarily easy for anyone, particularly new associates. Signmojo.com, an Intersign brand, helps take the guesswork out of remembering employee names with customized office nameplate signs.
With dozens of sign designs available, the company makes it easy to find an attractive style that’s compatible with existing signage. Nameplate signage is also available in a few different formats. Basic nameplates include a small horizontal sign frame with an insert for an employee’s name. Nameplate signs can also include “Title” formats that feature the associate’s job title, like “Administrator” or “Human Resources Director” pre-printed on the sign above the name insert window.
