New Report Evaluates the Cost-Effectiveness of Corporate Water Stewardship Project

Water risks are intensifying, and the need for effective corporate water stewardship has never been greater. The Pacific Institute’s new white paper, Evaluating the Cost-Effectiveness of Corporate Water Stewardship Projects, introduces the Levelized Cost of Water (LCOW).

Authored by AMP Insight’s Dr. Sarah Kruse and David Pilz, and Pacific Institute’s Dr. Sonali Abraham and Heather Cooley, LCOW is a standardized metric that can simplify decision-making. 

Actionable Guidance on Corporate Water Replenishment Programs in New Report 

How can businesses ensure their water replenishment programs are effective and credible? The CEO Water Mandate and Bluerisk recently launched "Governing Corporate Water Replenishment Programs: Twelve Practical Tips and Lessons Learned."  

Based on seven global companies' experiences, this resource is designed to help build trust, resilience, and positive outcomes for watersheds and stakeholders.

Water Resilience Coalition Advances Corporate Water Action at World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 

The Water Resilience Coalition CEO Circle Meeting recently convened during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The meeting gathered leaders from around the globe to discuss one of the world’s most pressing issues: water.  

The Water Resilience Coalition is an industry-driven, CEO-led initiative to tackle the global water crisis. As part of the CEO Water Mandate, a partnership between the UN Global Compact and Pacific Institute, we are uniting businesses to drive real impact where it matters most.

March 13, Dr. Peter Gleick, Pacific Institute Senior Fellow and Co-Founder, will give the keynote address at the Loyola University Chicago’s 2025 Climate Change Conference. 

The conference’s theme, “Shifting Waters: Water Security and the Emerging Water Crisis,” will explore strategies for developing solutions to the water crisis.

Webinar: Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard and Net Positive Water Impact Ambition

Last month, the Pacific Institute, along with the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) hosted a webinar featuring a new resource for corporations focused on water stewardship and resilience.

During the webinar, participants explored the connection between the CEO Water Mandate Net Positive Water Impact (NPWI) ambition to build long-term resilience in water-stressed basins, and Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Standard V2.0.

Last month, Pacific Institute Senior Researcher Dr. Gregg Brill was featured in a webinar highlighting a new report, “Governing Corporate Water Replenishment Programs: 12 Practical Tips and Lessons Learned.”

The conversation reflected on the experiences of seven global companies in governing their corporate water stewardship initiative and provided an opportunity to engage some of the leading companies in corporate water stewardship.
