LITERARY ARTS ROUNDTABLE EVENT
October 10 at 5 pm
Dominion Hotel Pub, Minden
Mix and mingle with authors and others interested in the literary arts!
This event hosted by The Arts Council ~ Haliburton Highlands and co-sponsored by King’s College. Celebrating the launch of David Pate’s book, The Worst Songs in the World – The Terrible Truth about National Anthems, there will be a reading by Fay Martin from his book. There will also be a reading by Helga Raush, a colleague at King’s College, from her recently published book, Leaders, All: Women in the Canadian Armed Forces Since WWII.
Join a discussion with the panel and audience about what support writers need and suggestions for the direction and future projects you would like to see.
Appetizers to be served, a cash bar and optional dinner after the event.

Are you a painter? Bring a piece of artwork – perhaps an in-progress piece? or that piece that has you asking “is it finished?” or even that new masterpiece that you are really excited about. Ask questions, tell the group about your process. Learn how to give and receive ideas, suggestions and learn the language of critiquing. This is a sacred gathering & work and I am truly honoured to have you be part of this creation and guide you at the flow of becoming a Drum carrier. There will be sharing of intro-cultural wisdom of this universal Drum Spirit & Songs during the building process. We will be working with White Tail Deer hide and round Ash hard-wood frames (for whom I am in collaboration with and prepared by First Nations) to fasten your Drum Spirit.
