Possible Grant Opportunity for Families with Special Education Services Needs

Your paragraph text

The Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) program, previously, the Supplemental Special Education Services (SSES) program is a one-time $1,500 online grant for parents/guardians of eligible students served by special education and who are enrolled in a Texas public school. Parents/guardians of eligible students can use the online accounts to shop the marketplace to obtain educational materials and resources such as textbooks, curriculum, or technology devices and/or services such as additional speech therapy, tutoring, or other specific services. The PDSES program is the same as the SSES program, just with a new name to better reflect the importance of parents as decision-makers in the educational process. The same students who were eligible for the SSES program are eligible for the PDSES program. If students already received an SSES grant, they will not be eligible for a PDSES program grant.

More information can be found on the TEA Website and on the attached flyers.

Below is an information letter/flyer to parents regarding the PDSES Program and grant application details.

Save the Date: School Lunch Hero Day!

Save the Date: School Lunch Hero Day. On the first Friday in May, we celebrate School Lunch Hero Day! In 2025, this special day of celebration will be on May 2nd. That Friday we will recognize school nutrition professionals and the difference they make every day!

Between preparing healthy meals for Texas students, adhering to strict nutritional standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, school nutrition professionals are true heroes.

REsupply Drive - Last Chance!

Hello NYOS Parents!

As you know our kids go through A LOT of supplies, and many of the things we purchased at the beginning of the year are running out! This is why NYOS PTA runs a REsupply Drive in February! We collect requests from teachers, put together a list of what is needed, sort donations, and distribute those supplies to the teachers. THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!

This is the LAST CHANCE for YOU to help make the REsupply Drive successful. We need donations, big or small! Our teachers do so much for our kids, let's all pitch in and do this one thing for them.

Purchases must be delivered by Sunday, as we will be distributing supplies Monday. We are updating the list and you can also note the "amount needed" to see what is lacking.

Thank you for your support of our AMAZING teachers!
