Repair Café will return to the Salina Art Center Warehouse for the second time!
Save a common household item from the landfill by joining the North Salina Community Development, Community Resilience Hub, Salina Public Library, and the Warehouse Education Studio to bring renewed life to small household items. Volunteers will do their best to fix one small everyday item for each community member who attends. Quick repairs might include table lamps, bicycles, clothing, quilts, small wood furniture, clogged vacuums, and book repairs.
Participating volunteers:
Sandy Beverly, Sheila Kjellberg, Darren Morawitz, Ed Maurath, Vicki Koepsel, Shawn Pierce, Eric Vannoy, Amanda Jones, Barb Young
If children have broken crayons, they can bring them in, and volunteers will help melt them down and make a fresh batch to take back home.
Volunteers are needed for future Repair Café events! If you are good at fixing things, consider volunteering your time to this community resource. Minor electrical, mechanical, carpentry, sewing, jewelry repair, and other general handy-person skills are some ways you can contribute. Future Repair Café dates are yet to be determined.
Date: Saturday, September 7
Time: 9 am to 12 noon
Cost: FREE
Location: Salina Art Center Warehouse, 149 S. 4th Street
