For 25 years, the mission of the San Francisco Independent Film Festival has been to seek out new film discoveries for Bay Area film fans to enjoy. Now, with the age of computerized algorithms, a human touch is needed more than ever to curate a unique cinematic experience. Iranian Women Revolt

Inspired by the movement Woman, Life, Freedom, which started a few months ago in Iran, Iranian Women Revolt is a film series that showcases the cinema made by and about the Iranian women raised in post 1979 Revolution. This series captures diverse stories of the life of Iranian women who have lived under an oppressed regime for over 40 years. These post revolution young women filmmakers, who are bold, courageous, and intelligent, share the struggles, fights, quarrels, and pains of their characters with us. Thus, they no longer accept the tyranny against women and people of Iran in general. And they rise.

It's Back!!

The Anti-Valentine's Day '80s Power Ballad Sing-A-Long Show returns to the Roxie Theater Feb 14 for an SF IndieFest After Party!

It's been just ages since we've teased up our hair, pulled on the spandex and raised our voices together in defiance of those who would dare not love us.

Fortunately, for those of us who can't stand Valentine's Day, there is an entire genre of music made just for our pain, AND it just happens to also be the most badass music ever: 80s POWER BALLADS. We'll sing, we’ll hold lighters in the air and sway, we'll pound our fists at the sky! Featuring the music of Journey, Guns 'n Roses, Bon Jovi, Warrant, and many many more.
