Welcome to 2025!

A Message from Kyle Chism

Dear Cherry Creek Chamber Members,

I’m thrilled to introduce myself as your new Executive Director of the Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce. It’s an honor to step into this role and join a community so deeply invested in the success of our members and the vitality of my favorite neighborhood.

As a Denver native, with roots spanning four generations (in the same house, but not at the same time), I’ve always been inspired by our western spirit of collaboration that really defines the culture of our business community. My career has been shaped by building connections between businesses, community organizations, and public agencies, and I’m eager to bring that experience to the Chamber.

Over the coming months, I look forward to meeting with as many of you as possible, learning about your businesses, and hearing how the Chamber can better serve your needs. I encourage you to reach out, whether to share your ideas, set up a time to chat, or simply say hello.

Looking ahead, my vision for the Chamber centers on advancing our collective success. My strategic priorities include:

·       Membership Growth and Diversification: Expanding and diversifying our membership to reflect the full breadth of Cherry Creek’s vibrant business community.

·       Strategic Partnerships and Collaboration: Deepening partnerships within Cherry Creek and beyond to strengthen our collective influence and impact.

·       Member Success and Prosperity: Ensuring that every member has the resources, connections, and opportunities to thrive.

·       Innovative Member Engagement: Developing creative and meaningful ways to connect with and serve our members, with a focus on equity and inclusion.

These priorities build on the strong foundation laid by my amazing predecessor and reflect my commitment to positioning the Chamber as an indispensable resource for our members and a driving force in Cherry Creek’s continued success.

Thank you for your warm welcome and for your trust in me to lead this incredible organization. I am excited to work alongside you to elevate the Chamber and create new opportunities for growth and connection.

Let’s get started!

Chamber Community Call to Action

It is with a heavy heart that we share devastating news about two cherished members of our Cherry Creek Chamber community.

On the evening of December 1, Joanne Weiss and her partner, Denie Orr – dedicated booksellers who have been a part of our community for decades – experienced an unimaginable tragedy during a violent home invasion that has changed their lives forever. During the invasion, Joanne suffered multiple gunshot wounds that have left her paralyzed from the sternum down. Despite the enormity of this life-altering event, Joanne and Denie are facing the future with incredible courage, resilience, and determination. But the road ahead is long and filled with challenges, and they need our support more than ever.

Joanne and Denie have spent their lives enriching the lives of others – through their work, their kindness, and their dedication to their neighborhood and the broader bookselling community. As they move forward, they will have to make significant adjustments to their way of life, and the costs can be overwhelming. We want to ease their burden so they can focus on recovering, supporting one another, and adapting to their new way of life.

We are seeking to raise $50,000 to help cover essential expenses, including:

  • Medical expenses not covered by insurance
  • Rehabilitation and physical therapy
  • Home modifications for accessibility
  • Mobility equipment
  • Everyday living expenses during this challenging time

Joanne and Denie have given so much, and now it’s time for us to give back.

How You Can Help:

Every donation, no matter the size, brings Joanne and Denie closer to the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

Let’s come together as a community to support Joanne and Denie as they embark on this challenging journey. Your generosity and kindness can help turn this heartbreaking chapter into one of resilience, hope, and love.

Why are Takeovers Important?

"Social media is the powerhouse of modern marketing, where content is the new gold. Instagram takeovers are a game-changer, offering businesses a dynamic way to reach new audiences and tell their story in a way that facts alone can't. Facts tell, but stories sell—and the right takeover can turn potential customers into loyal clients."

Messages for the New Year!

A Message from Marc Purvis

2025 Chair

Happy New Year, Cherry Creek Chamber Members!

As we look ahead, the course is being set for your Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce! Everything we do—from internal decisions on programming to external initiatives, contracts, and events—will be guided by a constant focus on equity. We are committed to reimagining how our members engage with the Chamber and, with your help, ensuring that every member feels valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals.

In 2025, we are renewing our focus on delivering exceptional value to our members through four key pillars, all viewed through the lens of equity: Membership Growth & Diversification, Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration, Member Success & Prosperity, and Innovative Member Engagement. Our goals include expanding and diversifying our membership base, leveraging partnerships to support business-friendly policies, developing workshops to help members overcome obstacles and seize opportunities, and introducing forums for targeted discussion and collaboration.

The Board of Directors will play a pivotal role in ensuring alignment with these four pillars. By tracking success through the principles of Equitability, Transparency, Collaboration, Innovation, and Transformation, we aim to fuel our growth and impact. Collaborating with key stakeholders, including local government, educational institutions, and business leaders, will amplify our impact and provide members with unparalleled resources and opportunities. These alliances will help us address pressing community challenges, promote economic vitality, and position the Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce as a premier hub for innovation and growth.

I am honored to serve as your Chair of the Board and excited to work with you to make 2025 our most successful year yet.

Sincerely,

Marc Purvis

A Message from Matt Fumuso

2024 Chair

Happy Holidays Cherry Creek Chamber Members!

It has been an incredible honor serving you as Chair of the Board of Directors in 2024. We have enjoyed wonderful programming and events that fostered a deepening of relationships amongst our members and community: from welcoming new members to the neighborhood in the form of ribbon cuttings, to growing individual businesses through our Leads Groups, Wellness Collective, and Cherry Creek Design Collective, while also having some fun at our Business After Hours and Wicket & Stick It events, just to name a few. Our Annual Luncheon was another booming success where we recognized some incredible folks and looked towards the future of Cherry Creek North.

2024 was an important year as the Board worked through the tall task of acquiescing to our cherished Executive Director’s wishes to step away and enjoy her next chapter in retirement. Christine Des Enfants has been a permanent fixture within the Chamber for the last 17 years. Her service and dedication have been unmatched, and she has been a shining star within our community over the years, lighting up every room she enters and always willing to lend a helping hand. It is with extreme gratitude we say goodbye to Christine and wish her nothing but the best.

As we look forward to 2025, I am filled with excitement and inspiration for the Chamber. We have a tremendous new Executive Director, Kyle Chism, a wonderful new Chair of the Board, Marc Purvis, and we have added 4 incredible new Board members. I am thrilled to see the enthusiasm around our leadership, and people stepping up to act as stewards for our community in 2025 and beyond. To that end, we could not be where we are without you, our members, the lifeblood of our Chamber. I cannot thank you enough for understanding the value of the Chamber, engaging in the fostering of relationships – both personal and professional – and commitment to the success of businesses within our neighborhood.

Wishing you health, happiness, and success in the New Year!

Ancillary K9 Dog Training

What brought you to start your business or get into your industry?

I had a very difficult and reactive dog. I had tried working with multiple trainers, and all of them offered similar advice that simply didn’t work. It wasn’t until I started researching how to train working dogs and found a mentor who specialized in training dogs for Schutzhund that I found success with my own dog. That experience completely shifted my understanding of what dogs need, and it pushed me to create a system that actually works, especially for difficult cases.

When you’re passionate about something, it’s hard not to want to share that passion and experience with other people. I realized how many other dog owners were going through the same struggles I had faced and that there weren’t many trainers addressing those real, deep-rooted behavior problems in an effective way. I knew I had to create a solution, and that’s how Ancillary K9 was born.

What do you love most about what you do?

Many of my clients have tried dog training in the past without success. I find it incredibly rewarding to be the trainer who truly makes a difference by helping people understand their dogs, strengthening their bond, and fixing bad behavior for good. By doing so, I have prevented dozens of dogs from being rehomed, returned to shelters, or even euthanized. Knowing I have been able to save these dogs and improve their lives, as well as their owners’, is deeply fulfilling work.

How can the Chamber help you?

The small business lifestyle comes with its challenges, and I hope the Cherry Creek community will be a powerful network that will offer opportunities for growth and connection, and one that I can give back to as well as a serial entrepreneur and mentor. We're stronger together so I hope to connect with like-minded, hardworking entrepreneurs.
