Message From The SPIRIT Newsletter
Bernadette Bailey, Editor
Happy New Year, POWAB Family!
The Spirit newsletter is anticipating a banner year as it looks forward to introducing readers to more information that fulfills POWAB’s mission “to connect people and communities to resources to achieve and support whole person health in mind, body and spirit.” In fact, The Spirit intends to be a vital resource toward that goal. Looking back over 2022, we can highlight in-person interviews with leading local clergy, special guest appearances and holistic videos, one of which targeted senior citizens. Several of our articles pointed out healthcare disparities and their adverse effects on minority communities.
We will continue our multi-ethnic/cultural stances as part of our dedication to inclusiveness. As a community service, when the pandemic continued to rage, we provided the locations of clinics dispensing Covid vaccinations.
Our 2023 goal is to increase our readership and expand our reach. The most recent data show that we have 413 subscribers; 90% accessed the newsletter by desktop and 10% by mobile device. However, receiving the newsletter and actually reading it are two different things. So, we have a task ahead of us.
The editorial staff is counting on the POWAB family to spread the good news of the bounty of information awaiting them in this valuable resource. Let’s make POWAB known throughout the DMV.
Bernadette Bailey Editor, The Spirit
