THE CHRISTMAS SERIES PART 7

WE THREE KINGS OF ORIENT ARE – PART 1

“We three kings of Orient are bearing gifts we traverse afar…” is a song we often hear at Christmastime. It reinforces a false imagery invented by the Roman church and perpetuated throughout Protestant churches.

The images we see painted are three camels with one king mounted upon each camel. To counter that false narrative put forth throughout Christendom, we will simply point out truth. Truth trumps the false.

The story of the wise men’s visit to see the newborn king of the Jews is told in Matthew 2:1-12. It is quite a remarkable story. First of all, they were not “kings” in the traditional sense of rulership. They were “magi,” the plural form of “magus” which means “astrologer.” It is also the root word for “magic” as the magi were presumed to have some divinely appointed supernatural understanding, hence “wise men.” They studied the stars (as astronomers) and could understand “times, seasons, and events” from the stars. The Bible tells us that God has written the times and season in the heavens.

The “wise men” had such a long-storied history that Babylonian kings had wise men as their court advisors. They were born in the southern part of Babylon called Chaldea. They had some Persian heritage, so they were more Persian than Babylonians; they were uniquely Chaldean.

Abraham was born and raised in Chaldea in the city of Ur. When he left as a young adult with his father and brother Haran, his other brother Nahor remained in Chaldea and raised his family there. Abraham and Sarah were Chaldean. Abraham years later sent his servant back to Chaldea to get a Chaldean wife for Isaac from his family’s bloodline from Nahor.

With Abraham’s blood connection to them, the Chaldeans somehow were knowledgeable of God’s prophecy that a great king would arise out of Israel whose dominion would be everlasting. When they saw this star in the heavens, they knew it was a sign that this king had been born. They felt compelled to go honor him as their people had awaited him for centuries.

This is the background. Tomorrow we will talk about the actual visit, correct some errors, and discuss just how very special this event was. Stay tuned.

THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD

Have you ever had a close friend or family member betray you? Have you ever had someone speak words about you that were not true? These things can cause someone to become very hurt and bitter. It can open the door for offense that can only be shut through repentance.

Family members have been at odds since the beginning. Take Cain and Abel. One brother killed the other brother. Jacob and Esau had a falling out, and even though there was an apparent reconciliation years later the descendants of Esau would not let the children of Jacob come on their land.

I have always taught my children and those in our church that friends, family, pastors, neighbors and more will betray you, but God will never betray us. He is our friend. In Proverbs 18:24 it says, “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than any brother.” That friend is Jesus Christ. How close does he get? He lives inside of you, and nothing can get closer than that.

Many biblical prophets went through terrible persecution, and death, but they all knew the one that would see them through which was God, himself.

Lonely? Jesus is a friend. Sick? Jesus is our healer. Feel betrayed? Jesus was betrayed and understands. He will be faithful when no one else is. You can count on it! Don’t get bitter over betrayals and false accusations. Give them to God and let Him take care of it. He is that friend that sticks closer to you than anyone. He is faithful to take care of His own!

PROPHETIC WORD

Just as Jesus stood at the graveside of Lazarus and wept he weeps over those that see their vision as having died and without hope. He would say unto you that unless a corn of wheat would fall into the ground and die that it remains alone, but in the dying process much life will come forth. He would say, Vision come forth, for this is your hour for it to rise up and come forth. He would say unloose the graveclothes from this vision and let the life flow from it, for this is the hour for those visions that have died to surely come forth and bring forth much fruit. You have labored hard, and it would seem that all you have put your hand to has gone through your fingers as sand in an hourglass, but the Lord would say that it is not the time to perceive it as being dead. It is not the hour to look at the vision and lose hope. It is not the hour to cast away your confidence. For this is the hour to let that which was dead burst forth from the grave and the grave clothes and have the light of my glory upon it. The Lord would say rise up and come forth vision and accomplish what I have called you to be in this hour. For surely the time is here for the resurrection power to come upon your vision and it shall not be held back. It shall not be held back. It shall come forth in newness of life. It shall come forth and be what I have purposed it to be. Do not look at the circumstances around you my children for they would delay the resurrection. Do not look at what is in your hand to bring forth the vision. For it is not by your hand that it would come forth. It is by my power and my life-giving breath that life will come forth from the grave of dead things. Surely this is the hour for your vision to be brought to life saith the Lord.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

In order to have a real BREAKTHROUGH...You must FIRST have a BREAKOUT. It’s so true IF you sincerely want to have a genuine BREAKTHROUGH; Then sometimes you just gotta BREAKOUT and BREAK AWAY. Yes, BREAK AWAY from all the things and those folks who’ve put you down; While trying to measure where you’re GOING…By where you have BEEN. Just know that you can’t always judge where someone is GOING…By where they have BEEN. You see God takes the most unlikely folks to the highest places in Him... And guess what? He doesn’t even consult you and I about His decisions.

The Storms HCC

The storms and wind do blow.

                  But we stay warm inside.

So blessed to have a home.

                  Loving people at our side.

We look at what’s going on,

                  With the culture of today.

We pray to Jesus, “Help them”,

Help them to find their way.

                  To you Lord, to you.

Our World has changed so much.

With a lying government we see.

They are blind to what is true.

As people pour into this country.

As we read the Bible we know,

                  The end is coming soon.

                  Pray with all your heart.

                  Come to Christ, stay strong,

                  Our Lord, he follows you.
