The Children's Trust is looking for volunteer reviewers to help us review programming proposals as part of our solicitation process. An important component of The Trust’s solicitation process is the engagement of local community members to work with Trust staff in reviewing applications submitted for funding. February SPARK Training *

The Children's Trust is sponsoring a SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids) training event at least once every month. The training is for contracted Youth Development K-5 providers using SPARK curriculum for fitness. Watch the Trust Academy LMS Event calendar for future trainings.

Grant Opportunities for Parenting, Family Strengthening Providers to be Released Feb. 14

Funding will soon be available for a new 5-year funding cycle. Do you provide high-quality group, individual, or home visiting parenting programming? The Children’s Trust will be looking for applicants for a new 5-year funding cycle that will start in October.


The Parenting and Family Strengthening request for proposals (RFP) is scheduled to be released February 14. For more information click below:

In partnership with The Children’s Trust, Miami’s Community Newspapers has released a Special Edition publication entitled The Children’s Trust: 20 Years Nurturing Greatness. This publication reflects upon two decades of The Children’s Trust’s service and commitment. On these pages, you will read about how The Trust came into being and its community impact. It also features stories of a few incredible young people who have thrived thanks to The Trust’s funded programs and partners and how the past and present will set the stage for an even brighter future.

The Trust Sponsoring Paid Registrations to Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference

The Children’s Trust is once again sponsoring registrations to the 2023 Miami International Child & Adolescent Mental Health (MICAMH) Conference, taking place Feb. 8-10, at the FIU Kovens Conference Center. Hosted by the FIU Center for Children and Families and presented by The Children’s Trust, the MICAMH Conference is the leading interdisciplinary conference that brings together more than 500 professionals to present state-of-the-art, evidence-based prevention and treatment interventions.


If you are interested in attending, please fill out the inquiry form below to be considered. This is not a registration form. All inquiries will be reviewed by The Children's Trust for final approval. Space for the conference is limited. The Children's Trust slots are on a first come first served basis and the number of slots may be limited per program.

Miami Foundation Community Grants Now Open

The Miami Foundation’s Community Grants program, the largest grant program for nonprofits working across Miami-Dade County, is now open to invest in critical local resources and action to advance equity for all Greater Miami residents.This year brings exciting changes to Community Grants, including:

  •  A one-phase proposal process.
  • Multi-year grant awards.
  • Funding 100% for general operating, unrestricted mission-building support.

 

Funding issue areas include Sustainable Environment, Access to Health and Wellness, Economic Stability, Inclusion of People with Diverse Abilities, and Thriving Youth and Families.

America On Tech's TECH360 Spring Boot Camp is a 10-week virtual after-school program for sophomores, juniors and seniors enrolled in high schools in Miami-Dade County. Students learn the fundamentals of web design and development from expert instructors. Students who complete the program will receive a $500 stipend. The application deadline is February 5. Community Grant Opportunities from the Town of Cutler Bay *

The Town of Cutler Bay established the Community Fund to improve the quality of life of the town’s residents through various ways and create supportive partnerships with local nonprofit organizations that help, support and serve our community. Grant awards: $500 - $2,500. Priority areas: education, environment, culture, social services, and other philanthropic activities Grant Cycle Deadline: March 31.

Free Grief & Loss on the Autism Spectrum Training *

The Children's Bereavement Center is offering a free training that will cover the unique ways that individuals on the autism spectrum experience and express grief. Attendees will be educated on the key myths, gaps and stereotypes about those with autism and how these gaps and challenges may impact the experience of grief and loss. Finally, it will highlight the grief needs of those with dual vulnerability (members of multiple oppressed groups) such as those in unique/diverse/minority populations who have ASD. This training takes place February 8, noon-1:30 p.m. Register below.

English for Families Literary Series from Miami-Dade Library System *

Attention providers that serve families whose native language is not English. Join Miami-Dade Public Library System for a 10-week series designed to help parents and children ages 6-12 years develop and improve their English-language vocabulary and literacy skills through fun story readings and interactive activities. This is a hybrid course. The instructor will teach the class in two modalities simultaneously. Participants choose to register to attend the course either online or in the library. Space is limited.

The MOMCHA (Making Optimal Maternal and Child Health Accessible) Program, funded by the Florida Department of Health, seeks to improve maternal health outcomes for underserved women of color in South Florida through increasing awareness and usage of Doula services. Catalyst Miami Recruiting for CLEAR and LIGHT Leadership Trainings

CLEAR Miami

CLEAR (Community Leadership on the Environment, Advocacy, and Resilience) is a free 10-week program that provides participants with the groundwork to become climate justice educators, leaders, and innovators in their own communities and beyond. Participants will develop a deep and intersectional understanding of climate science, local climate change threats, and solutions. The programs will be held virtually through Zoom and stipends will be given to participants who complete and graduate from the programs.

LIGHT MIAMI

LIGHT (Leaders in Grassroots Health Transformation) will be a free 9-week leadership training course around health justice advocacy, the United States healthcare system and its alternatives, as well as public speaking and self-advocacy skills. Schedule a Free Mental Health Presentation for Families

Teach parents/caregivers about mental wellness with a FREE program "Ending the Silence" (ETS) presented by the National Alliance on Mental Illness Miami-Dade County. ETS is a 60-minute or longer virtual/in-person presentation that increases knowledge about warning signs of mental health issues, diminishes stigma, encourages families to seek help, and provides local and national resources. It is presented in English and Spanish.

Spotlight Miami Grants Due January 31

Spotlight Miami is a women’s giving circle where members contribute $1k or more annually with 100% of annual membership dues gifted to charities through a grant application process. Spotlight grants are for a one-year granting cycle. Previous grantees can apply every three years. Grant awards up to $20k. Application and instructions can be accessed through the link below. Research & Evaluation Analyst - ($55,968 Annual)

The Research and Evaluation Analyst is a critical member of both cross- and inter-departmental teams at The Children’s Trust who engages in proactive problem-solving and critical thinking/analysis related to the design and effectiveness of various child, youth and family services. Primary responsibilities include: contributing to effective program and systems designs for The Children’s Trust’s priority investments in child, youth and family services; designing and maintaining sound data collection tools and systems to capture meaningful program, operational and community data in a user-friendly, accessible manner; and analyzing and making meaning from available data to tell our stories using compelling visualizations and reports, with an intentional focus on the specific audience and purpose of the message.


Solutions Specialist - ($55,968 Annual)

The Solutions Specialist executes on solutions design in response to business priorities and vetted requirements. This position conducts unit testing and validates use cases to ensure solution aligns with requirements. This position maintains and implements routine solutions under the guidance of senior Technology Design and Solutions team members.
