The Zikomo Project

Malawi Fundraiser

The Zikomo Project, supported by Dr. Norbert Heinrich (University of Munich) and his colleague John Chimphamba, a clinical officer in Malawi, have teamed up to fundraise to drill boreholes for safe drinking water and planting trees as a "food for work" project to combat the devastating impacts global inflation, COVID, and the war in Ukraine has had on Malawi's economy and citizens, including a steep rise in food prices, fertilizer and petrol shortage, and the Malawian currency depreciation.

Although not directly TB-related, many of UCSF and our affiliates conduct TB research in Malawi and call Norbert Heinrich a friend. Please consider supporting, and direct questions to Norbert Heinrich or Patrick Phillips.
