Sunapee Happenings

“October River”.  G. Scott Tabar

Before we round the next corner toward winter (as the near freezing nighttime temperatures remind us, is close) it’s worth looking into the rear view mirror at summer and what a wildly delightful one it was by almost all measures.  Most of our favorite summer events were back after two years of cancellations and modifications… and by all accounts townsfolk and visitors alike, enjoyed them.  Music rang out from every community bandstand.  The Barn Playhouse (despite a couple of covid hiccups) raised the curtain as “Barnies" took the stage.  Hospital Days were back better than ever.  There were parades on 4th of July and fireworks lit up the sky.  League of NH Craftsmens Fair tents were full of artisans and visitors at Mt. Sunapee.  Summer Camps reopened.  The MV Mt. Sunapee & newly christened Lake Queen plied the waters along with scores of sailboats.  Families enjoyed “Movies Under the Stars” in Sunapee Harbor... and the list goes on.

Sunapee Spotlight

“Two battling narrators attempt to cover the entirety of Greek mythology using audience participation, cross-dressing, and general theatrical insanity. Creation myths such as Pandora's Box and Cronos and the Titans jostle for space with other famous myths like Jason and the Argonauts.” (Playscripts, Inc.)

Sunapee Giving Tree
