Serve

Northbrook will be serving at Trinity Table at Trinity UMC in downtown Atlanta on Sunday, May 28 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. We need volunteers to help serve clients a sit-down BBQ lunch and give away to-go food bags. If you are interested in serving on May 28, contact Elizabeth Pollard.

A mission trip to Guatemala is planned for this summer June 5-12. Delta airfares have increased significantly since the trip was announced earlier this year but the good news is that Frontier Airlines has announced that they will begin nonstop flights beginning in May 2023 (current airfare on Frontier is $307 plus checked bag and carry-on bag versus Delta's airfare which is at $1,000). Trip fee for room, meals, and transportation while in Guatemala is only $420 per person. Various service opportunities will be available including installing stoves, constructing a home, and supporting the soup kitchen and kids' club. As always, no specific skills are required for any of the activities that we support, just a servant’s heart for the people of Guatemala and a willingness to build relationships with them.

There are still spots open! If you have interest please contact Mike Johnson at (404) 550-2860 or email (johnsmst@gmail.com).

Northbrook UMC has a web page for viewing all our volunteer opportunities in one place. Current opportunities include serving as usher or greeter on Sunday mornings, providing meals to youth on Sunday nights, and much more. View current opportunities.
