Nebraska Physicians Cancer Screening Project
Cancer Prevention Efforts Pay Off
PHL and partners project results in continued improvement
To address Nebraska's low cancer screening rates, in 2016 - 2017,  the Nebraska Physicians Cancer Screening Initiative was created to help implement systematic changes that would allow participating clinics to identify and screen more patients for breast and colorectal cancer to s ave lives through early detection.

The multi-year project improved screening rates resulting in national recognition for the participating clinics, project sponsors and Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln. Good work is continuing as the latest data show that Lancaster County has the highest screening rates in the State.

Currently, local physician clinics including The Physician Network, OneHealth Nebraska, and the Bryan Physician Network are working together on chronic disease initiatives to improve diabetes and hypertension control.
