A MESSAGE FROM
Tony Leonard
Every Sunday, members of GraceWorks with professional experience in the medical field serve as the “nurse on call.” These members are prepared to respond to any medical incident on Sunday mornings. I am very appreciative of this ministry which is unseen but prepared to serve in an emergency. I am grateful we have not had to address many health-related incidents but confident we have members ready to serve at a minute’s notice. Also, each month the team emphasizes a health awareness topic. Information on the topic can be found in the foyer.
January is Blood Donor Awareness month. This month is an opportunity to recognize the roughly three percent of the U.S. population that donates blood each year. A blood transfusion occurs every two seconds in America and a single donation can save multiple lives. Please consider this opportunity to make a difference in our community. This Sunday the Medical ministry team of GraceWorks is sponsoring a blood drive. This Sunday the Blood Assurance Bloodmobile will be parked at GraceWorks to collect blood donations. You can register on the sign-up sheets in the foyer or contact Tonnie Kyle at [email protected] to register or receive more information.
For Christians, every month should be blood awareness month. The blood of Jesus was shed for us. His blood was donated so that we might live, eternally. The blood we donate makes it possible for others to live physically. Thank you, Jesus, for giving on our behalf.
