BARRIER ISLANDS OVERALL NOURISHMENT UPDATE:

From: Kelli Hammer Levy with Pinellas County

Attached is the adopted language by the House. Based on an initial review, the proposed language is still problematic for Pinellas. The Senate has not adopted WRDA language. The County together with partners from around the state have provided input on what language would resolve the challenges that are preventing our projects and others in Florida from advancing to construction. After the Senate has adopted the language, the two chambers will conference and determine the final language.

We appreciate everyone’s continued support in helping to advance nourishment projects in Pinellas and across the state. Your voices are important so please continue to discuss this important issue with members of our delegation and beyond.  Our county continues to work tirelessly on the issue.

Simultaneously, continuing to navigate other solutions.
