West Nile virus Detected in District 4

Santa Clara County Vector Control will be taking measures to combat mosquitos in parts of District 4 after West Nile Virus was detected in a test centered at Penitencia Creek Road and N. Capitol Ave. The localized adult mosquito control treatment will begin Thursday, August 1, at 10pm in zip codes 95116, 95127, 95131, 95132, and 95133. San Jose Police Department needs the public’s help to identify three suspects they believe to be responsible for injuries caused by illegal fireworks in Alviso on July 4th. Aces, Dillballs, Dink Shots!

The Sports Court Renovation Project at Cataldi Park is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 29th! We anticipate that this project will be completed in late August. The area will be gated, locked, and unavailable to the public during construction. This project includes converting the ½ basketball court to a full size court and adding 3 permanent pickleball courts, and refreshing paint and surfaces. We’re so excited for these park improvements!

Free Trees for District 4 Residents

Our team is hard at work, pushing toward our goal of planting 1,000 trees by the end of Councilmember Cohen's first term in office. Now we're launching a new program aimed at getting more trees planted in residential areas. If you have a great spot for a tree on your property, get in touch with us for details!

Free Junk Pick Up!

We could all use a little extra space around the house this time of year, if you've got junk and clutter in your garage or yard, take advantage of this great FREE service from the City of San José! Make an appointment to get rid of old appliances and furniture, mattresses, and more. It's easy, just fill out a short form online, move your stuff to the curb, and a truck will come and take it all away!
