NEWS & UPDATES

Numerous communities across the Midwest faced traumatic severe weather events this past weekend. On April 26, tornadoes across Nebraska and Iowa destroyed homes and shook communities across the region. The following day in Oklahoma, another string of tornadoes made a devastating mark — leaving 100 people injured and four killed.

The Mid-America MHTTC sends an outpouring of compassion and condolences to the members of these communities, and we wish you nothing but strength and hope as you move forward.

If you, or a loved one, are facing increased fear, stress, or difficult emotions following the storms — know that you are not alone, and that help is always available. See below for a list of resources available for adults, teens, and children.

We're observing Mental Health Awareness Month — are you?

Tune into our social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, and X) for posts each week for coverage of different mental health themes, as well as a walk-through of our Adult Resilience Curriculum!

Be sure to check out this fantastic list of resources & events compiled by the MHTTC Network Coordinating Office, too!

The Mid-America MHTTC spent a few days last month at #NatCon24 in St. Louis, MO!

In addition to attending many exciting and enriching presentations (including a keynote from Michelle Obama), Mid-America School Mnetal Health Program Director Dr. Erika Franta presented on Preventing and Addressing Violence in K-12 Schools alongside members of our Network Coordinating Office.

There's still time to sign up for the Middle America School Mental Health Conference and Nebraska School Mental Health Conference!

We're beyond excited for these two fantastic events. Whether it's connecting with our regional partners, attending in-depth presentations, or listening to inspiring keynotes — we're ready for all these conferences have to offer.
