Derby Day Schedule Note

No Mass or Confession on Saturday, May 4, Derby Day. Our Daily Lunch Program will serve from 12:15-1 pm.

Fr. Chandler’s time among us as Rector turns out to be measured in months instead of years, but it is nevertheless a positively significant time for our faith family, and we are richer for it. This May marks his 35th year as an ordained priest. Let’s celebrate with him!

It's Stewardship Commitment Time

at the Cathedral

Congratulations and thank you,

Jeannine Chivatero!

New Prayer Group leader Jennie Condra watches as Father Chandler presents Jeannine Chivatero with the Nannie Phillips Rudd award in recognition of her 15 years of service.

The Prayer Group prays for the special intentions of the Cathedral parish, parishioners and friends.

For 15 years, the Prayer Group has been under the compassionate and diligent management of parishioner Jeannine Chivatero. In honor of her years of ministry and service, Jeannine was awarded the Nannie Phillips Rudd Parish Organization Award during last Sunday’s Mass. The whole parish is grateful to Jeannine for her steadfast stewardship.

Now, the Prayer Group has a new leader, and we welcome Jennie Condra to the role.

If you have prayer needs, email Jennie Condra: jcondra@gmail.com, or call the parish office, 502-582-2971, with your prayer requests.  If you wish to join the prayer group, email Jennie.

Docents

for

Archdiocese of Louisville History Center

and

Historic Cathedral of the Assumption

Trained volunteers give tours of the Cathedral and the Archdiocesan History Center in the Patterson Education Center. After training, the time will vary according to need for tours and to docent’s availability.

There is an immediate need for Sunday docents for the History Center, which is open to the public most Sundays from 10:30 am until 2 pm.

Catholic grade schools tour during the day throughout the academic year and other local and tourist groups schedule tours year-round. We have some dedicated docents, but always need more to lighten the load and increase our availability when tours are requested.
