Becoming a Dairy Farmer
Don Kinslow knows a few things about row crops, dairy cows, buying farmland – and blazing your own path.
As the top producer in Barren County, Kentucky for many years, the Kinslow family name was synonymous with tobacco. Though the tobacco industry provided well for Don’s family, he was ready to branch out on his own – as a dairy farmer. He graciously chatted with us about his decision, his success and shared what he’s learned along the way.
Top Agriculture and Farming Tradeshows in the USA 2023
Farming is a substantial contributor to the economy and has been responsible for making the American economy a net exporter of food. Driving the sustainable growth of the country’s agriculture and farming industry vertical is a continuous stream of agriculture technology innovations like the mechanical reaper, the cotton gin, the Fordson tractor, and the combined harvesters.
Agriculture and farming trade shows are excellent places to find crop suppliers, manufacturers, machinery, software providers, agriculture and animal production services, new technology providers, and so on for your farming business.
Easy Ham and Cheese Sliders
Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • ⅛ teaspoon onion powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 package sweet Hawaiian rolls
  • ½ pound thinly sliced cooked deli honey ham
  • ½ pound thinly sliced Swiss cheese
Instructions
  1. Spray an 11-inch x 7-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, mustard, honey, dried parsley, onion powder and garlic powder.
  3. Do not pull the rolls apart, simply use a large serrated knife to slice the rolls in half as you would slice a bagel, separating the tops from the bottoms. Place the layer of bottoms into the prepared baking pan, cut side up.
  4. Layer half of the ham onto the rolls. Next, layer the Swiss cheese over the ham, and top with remaining ham slices. Place the layer of tops onto the sandwiches.
  5. Brush all of the butter mixture evenly over the rolls. At this point you can cover and refrigerate for up to 4 hours, or bake immediately.
  6. When you’re ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. If your pan isn’t covered with foil, go ahead and cover it now.
  7. Bake covered sliders in the preheated oven for 12 minutes. Remove the foil from the baking pan, return the sliders to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.
