The JOIN Settlement program at the YWCA Hamilton will be hosting Consumer Rights information session in the next week. This session will provide important information for newcomers who identify as women, gender-diverse, and non-binary about their rights and responsibilities as a customer under the Consumer Protection Act.
The session will discuss Your Rights when:
Signing or cancelling a contract.
Buying & Repair vehicles
Shopping.
Returns, exchanges and warranties in Ontario
How to make Complain about poor services and products.
How to report Frauds and Scams.
Please be aware that we will not be providing legal advice during this session; instead, we will be discussing your rights and responsibilities as a customer based on the information available on the Government of Ontario website.
The session will be delivered in a hybrid format (in-person and online at the same time).
