Last Thursday, Arianna (from HooRWA) visited the Co-op eager to share information about the Ostrich fern. These elegant ferns, native to our local river ecosystem, hold a secret: their fiddleheads are edible delicacies when raised & cooked properly. But what’s the catch—they’re only edible in their tightly coiled stage when cooked (what we sell at the Co-op).

She also connected us to the Hoosic River Watershed Association (HooRWA). The river, resilient yet vulnerable, craves our care and respect. To learn about fiddleheads and HooRWA's needs, visit the link below.
