Worship at St. Peter's

This Communion Sunday, May 5, Pastor Steve will continue the sermon series A Ragtag Company - according to the Book of Acts, by bringing the message When God Does the Unexpected I from Acts 10.

St. Peter's wants to ensure you get the most out of in-house worship. If you are having difficulties hearing the message, sound-amplifying devices are available at the back of the Sanctuary. Ask an usher to assist you.

Christina Yates and Peter Yates give the FLOWERS this Sunday in memory of Robert D. Yates, husband and father.

MUSIC NOTES

Worthy Is the Lamb

Our communion music for this Sunday is Worthy Is the Lamb, written by Darlene Zschech, a member of the talented Australian musicians of Hillsong. Old Time Music, an online repository for music stories and history, says this about the song:

“The lyrics of “Worthy Is the Lamb” convey a deep gratitude and adoration towards Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself on the cross for our sins. The first verse starts with a heartfelt acknowledgment of the price Jesus paid for us, bearing all our sin and shame. The love displayed on the cross is described as “amazing grace.”

“The second verse expresses gratitude for the love of Jesus, recognizing His nail-pierced hands and the cleansing flow of His blood. This love brings forgiveness and embraces us, offering us a new life in Him.

“The chorus is the highlight of this song, proclaiming the worthiness of the Lamb of God. Jesus is exalted and seated on the throne, with many crowns adorning Him. The lyrics affirm His victory and position as the Son of God, the beloved of Heaven, who was crucified for our salvation.”

Exodus - Learning to Trust God

Trust God. Sounds simple, right? Yet, you know it is often very, very difficult to trust God with the things that matter most to you--money, career, marriage, health. As we study the book of Exodus, we'll see that Israel faced similar struggles to trust God completely. In this story of hardship and hope, we'll discover along with Israel that God--and God alone--is worthy of our trust.

Bring your favorite Bible as we read and discuss the Israelites’ journey out of Egypt, prompted by discussion questions from the Life Guide series.

Seven Powerful

Claims of Christ

In the Gospel of John, Jesus uses “I Am” statements that tell his listeners exactly who he is: the Bread of Life; the Light of the World; the Gate; the Good Shepherd; the Resurrection and the Life; the Way, the Truth, and the Life; and the True Vine. These claims infuriated the religious leaders and eventually led to Jesus’ crucifixion. This six-session study examines Jesus’ extraordinary claims and shows how Jesus provides, protects, guides, saves, and gives everything we need to grow in spiritual maturity.

Join us on Saturdays as we explore the Seven Powerful Claims of Christ.
