Hope ... the Forgotten Virtue

Hope is a gift from God, that we may more continuously seek Him and grow in goodness, love and happiness. But hope also demands receptivity on our part. We must nourish hope by looking for the good in life, even in small, everyday situations and by seeing the good in others, as well as in the wonders of Creation. And hope is strengthened by daily connection with our God in prayer. Our world is in need of hope, the hope we can bring. Sister Marguerite Stewart welcomes you come and talk about it during Simply Prayer: Hope ... the Forgotten Virtue at St. Francis Center for Renewal in Bethlehem, Pa. The program is set for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3. Participate in person or from anywhere via Zoom.

A Few Christmas Wishes

It is in giving that we receive. We would find immense joy

in granting these Christmas wishes for others in need.

The Power of Prayer

“If I could give a gift to a person of my choice, it would be prayer. Sometimes it seems that we don’t have a way to make things better. It can feel like too big a task. I would offer comfort to someone who is facing a difficult journey. I would pray for that special someone. Praying isn’t always easy. Sometimes the words don’t come naturally. Some issues seem beyond our capabilities to solve. But prayer makes issues solvable. So prayer would be my gift to someone who really needs it.”

The Joy of Jesus

“There are many who are lonely and sad for many reasons. My gift is that Jesus' love will fill them with peace and joy this Christmas.”

Sister Roselyn Kuzma

Grace in Gila Bend

“I would like to gift a woman in Gila Bend, Arizona, with a construction crew to fix her house and give her any appliances she needs. She has been an inspiration to me. Even though she is poor, she is an example of how to graciously accept her situation. She never complains, is kind to all, and even shares what little she has with those in similar circumstances. She considers herself lucky to have me as her friend. The feeling is mutual.”
