HALIBURTON BASIC INCOME GROUP


The concept of universal basic income (BI) is that all residents would receive a guaranteed income through unconditional transfer payment. This would mean that members of the population would not have to prove anything to be deserving of a life above the poverty line.

‘KASH ART ON THE WATER'


An artisan event taking place Saturday, August 10th, 2024 10 am – 4 pm at dock and properties around Kashagawigamog Lake.. A wide variety of fine arts and crafts to be displayed at locations all around our lake.

HALIBURTON SCHOOL OF ART & DESGIGN

ANNUAL ART AUCTION & COCKTAIL RECEPTION


On August 8 an in-person cocktail reception, silent auction, and faculty art exhibition.

Everyone is invited to join us in the Great Hall on Thursday, August 8, at 5 p.m. to partake in refreshments, check out the amazing art pieces on display, and have the opportunity to bid on a few of them.

The online auction is running until August 6 at 8 p.m. and more details can be found at flemingcollege.ca/haliburton-art-auction.


Dance Happens Here Haliburton (DH 3 )

Dance performances will be popping up in parks and on the streets of Haliburton and Minden.

August 6 at Rotary Fest (excerpts): 4:15- 5:00 pm

August 7 at the Haliburton School of Art and Design (in front of the red doors) (excerpts): 12:15 - 12:50 pm

August 9 at Haliburton Village Square (excerpts): 5:00 - 5:30pm

August 10 in the Village Green (full work): Minden: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Attendance is free, donations on site are welcome.

DH 3 is part of the Haliburton County Community Co-operative.

Free Guided Walking Tour in the Haliburton Sculpture Forest on Tuesdays in August

Join us for a free guided walking tour on Tuesdays at 10:00am, in August. Meet at the kiosk at Fleming College - Haliburton School of Art + Design, 297 College Drive, Haliburton. The tours are approximately 2 hours long. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Registration is not required, we look forward to seeing you soon!

Art Squared on the Patio - Every Tuesday 12 - 2 pm 

Art by the square foot! Fresh off the easel! Local artists have come together to create works of art, whimsy, landscape, mixed media and NEW this year, fibre art - each one is $100 and all proceeds go to support Rails End Gallery and Arts Centre, a registered Canadian charity devoted to bringing the creative arts to life in Haliburton since 1969.
